I have heard negative things about Modest Mouse in 05, Oysterhead in 06, The Police in 07 and Kanye in 08, but Kanye was far and away the most hated on of any Bonnaroo artist I can remember.
Metallica, Pearl Jam and Tool all got good reviews from people.

Oysterhead got negative reviews? Really? I thought they were fantastic, as did everybody around me.
Why do you throw Metallica in the same boat as Kanye?
totally agree why would you toss them together? and why say of course......like it is the cool thing to not be into Kanye OR Metallica. To group these two together is as ridiculous as your thread and I agree with the bitch (yes jugger this actually happens with me more often than I care to admit me agreeing with you that is....) why stir up this negativity again which IMO is so obviously directed at Kanye and seemingly Metallica? OK admittingly Kanye deserves it but Metallica???? ...and have we not already been through this bs through and through and through yes Kanye was an a...hole he was disrespectful to his 'fans' by being so late, putting on a lousy show (from what I've heard, I personally did not waste one second waiting for Mr. ego), and not even acknowledging his lateness with a simple sorry etc on and on and on. We have been here lets move on
Oh, just one more note both Pearl Jam AND METALLICA were awesome last year they both brought a killer heartfelt show and showed the love to the bonnaroo fans. And Meg this comes from a jam band loving Dead and Phish touring old school hippy No band will ruin 'roo because roo is for for everyband (with the obvious exceptions thankfully left behind- boy bands, Brittney Spears type thing, etc)
and yes I realise the irony of me going through the Kanye thing to stop threads from popping up to continuously go through the Kanye thing. If this thread had only not mentioned Kanye then I would not have had to go through the going through of the Kanye thing. I'm exhausted

I voted Snoop Dogg. I really don't understand why he is popular among the roo crowd. Is it because he smokes weed? Or maybe because everyone that likes him is so quacked up when they listen to him. I know this statement will probably get my smited but: Kanye > Snoop. By a lot.

honestly i don't mind kanyes beats. but i can't stand most of his lyrics to his songs or his voice actually. however, one song that i really like by kanye is flashin lights.
however, snoop dogg is one of the originals. at least when it comes to rap these days. most of the rap these days isn't even rap. it's pop.
i know you said you want to hear peoples opinions, but when you start talking about bands you 'hate'...what do you really expect?
I guess ya didn't pay attention to my other replies... I DON'T HATE ANY OF THESE BANDS, maybe I should never have used the word to begin with.
i didn't say you hated these bands, i simply meant that when you put up a thread that is based on HATE (not saying you hate them, its just the kinda of conversation you 'wanted to know peoples opinions' about), then you are gonna find your 'Negative Nancies'. that's all i am saying. if you wanna stear clear of the 'HATERS' on info, then don't make a thread like this.

I don't understand the concept of "bands ruining Bonnaroo" because by that logic Bonnaroo is already ruined. IMO more than half of the bands that play Bonnaroo suck hard. But that's just me. I see a lot of people on this board overwhelmed with excitement to see bands that I think suck. But that's their taste and there's nothing wrong with that and I'm happy they are happy.
If you don't like who is playing, stay away from the show and forget about 'em.

^^exactly, ill prob get smited, but i thought ghostland observitory sucked when i heard them. i wouldn't say hate them but i still wont listen to it. but i just stayed away during the set.. i walked past smiled at the people having a good time and continued on my way.
