I have searched around in the forum and couldnt find the answer I was hoping for. A lot of the acts I would like to see are in the Tents.
I have a few questions I was hoping I could get answered since this is my first year and I am quite curious.
First Question, about how many people can these tents hold? Second Question is do they flush out the crowd in between sets like they do on the main stages?
I am just trying to get a good spot for a few acts in the tents and any information to help me do so would be apprecaited.
We are all very close. I cant wait for tickets to ship next week.
The tents are quite large. Plus there are no sides or back to the tent more like a giant shade canopy. At any point during the show you can walk up and be able to hear fine and maybe see too. They do not flush out the tents or the stages, except the pit at the What stage. Plus there are no sides or back to the tent more like a giant shade canopy.
These questions have all been answered before, but what the hell...
The tents are not technically tents, per se, but slightly smaller stages that have roofs overhead. They're open air, so you can enter from any side. I am not sure exactly how many people each tent can hold, but it's a lot - I'd guess somewhere between 10,000 and 12,500 for This Tent and That Tent, and maybe 8,000 for The Other Tent. My numbers could be off.
No, they don't flush out the crowd in between sets - in fact, they don't do it at the stages, either. What Stage has a special pit up front which does get cleared out, but that's it. You can stay in the same tent all day long if you want. In fact, you'll get a really great spot if you do.
If you want to get a good spot without waiting all day, the trick is to show up 15 minutes before the preceding act ends. Stay on the sides, just outside the tent, about midway back from the stage. When the show ends, a lot of people will come pouring out, and there will be a lot more room to maneuver just before people start to shuffle forward. Just be mindful of others, don't push or shove, try not to block other people's view, et cetera.
