Me and my friend are going bonnaroo shopping today....we need to get a blow up mattress, look at shower tents, clothes, and maybe a tent fan. We also have to practice putting up our canopy and make some bracelets. The only other thing we need is food but we're getting that the day before we leave......and we're ready to hit the road!!
I've managed to accumulate most everything I need! All I need now is a lantern and a case or two of water to freeze. Got an 18hr drive ahead, so I'm getting any perishable food items once I'm in TN.
woooooooo so exicted!!
The 18 hour drive is something I am NOT looking forward to... Last year was my first Bonnaroo so I knew how long it was but still didn't really know what I was in for. Now that I do know, it's the only thing that is dampening my overflowing Bonnaro excitement!
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

I'm driving down from Vermont so also got 18 hours ahead, but I'm looking forward to the 18 hours down, it's the 18 hours back that are gonna suck.
^i hear you on that one. we are coming from CT so not *quite* as far, but pretty far none the less... also we only have 2 people in our car this year.. compared to 5 last year and 4 the year before... so much more driving.
Ya it's just me and my GF driving down. Last year she contributed a whole... 2 hours This year she is saying she'll drive more, she just doesn't really like driving on the highway and is paranoid that somehow she'll make a wrong turn...

There's one and there are links to a variety of other ones on that page.
awesome! and not too expensive either. just what i was looking for. i found instructions online for sewing a shower curtain liner to a blanket, but i suck at sewing so i am probably going to screw it up, haha, and then i can order that one.
wow, i just realized that shower curtains are like my bonaroo mcgyver theme. weird.
Alright, so it's winding down, getting closer and closer... I need to:
Split a canopy with my group... a nice one.
Get the beer/liquor situation set up... make decisions on what to bring. I already know I'm bringing 24 PBR, 12 Dale's Pale Ale, and maybe a little thing of liquor.
I'm thinking of bringing a blow up mattress... anyone ever brought one of those to Roo? Is it a good idea?
Same strategy of bringing a few battery powered fans...
Can't really think of anything else.
I used a blow-up mattress in 07. It worked great, no problems at all.
Yeah, I went ahead and bought one... twin size, pump included for $20.
I have been slacking...i have purchased nothing yet! I am not even close to ready.
Actually, since this is my third roo, I have pretty much everything that I need from past roos.
Just have to get the beer, wipes, gold bond, water, tp, and batteries. Maybe some sd cards. We are taking the RV camper again, so pretty much everything is in there.
Oh damn...have to buy a new tire for the spare....thank you thread!!!

As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

I'm pretty much set to go. Just gotta get my food and snacks together. Did my tent set up and seam sealing the other day. Everythings set to go but the beer and food. I can't wait to leave!
I still have to buy a ticket and find a ride. The last two years in a row I found my ticket and ride just a DAY before roo. It was fun and exciting but this year I am prepping!!! I'll be roaming the boards for a ride and ticket everyday till roo. I'll head down to Tennessee even with out a ticket if I have to.
So friday we got to pull everything out and go camping for the first time this year. New canopy to set up but even with not knowing how to set it up the first time, still faster that the old one. Good to go. Now we just gotta replace some stuff in the first aid bag.
This is the only year (of my 4 bonnaroos) that I haven't gone crazy in preparation. Not that I'm not excited, just been out of town and busy lately to get too worked up. The first week of June I will officially freak out and start gathering things up. Just think...three weeks from this evening we'll be hearing the first sweet sounds of Bonnaroo. Ahhhhh
me too...except im in spain studying abroad right now so im unable to gather these materials back home until tuesday! I think im going to start freaking out soon too AHHHHH BONNAROOOOOOOOOO...thinking of this i should start collaborating with my mates

If you didn't buy a shower tent yesterday I'll give you mine. It has never been used. I saw it on sale at walmart in winter 07 and it was too good to pass up. PM me if you want it.

I did finally get to set up the new tent and seal the seams yesterday. I also found out that everyone is right, Coleman tent stakes blow goats. Thanks to inforoo when I picked up this new tent I also grabbed a couple packs of superdeluxe heavy duty non blow goats tent stakes!
Since it will be raining today and tomorrow we may put up the easy up inside and try packing his truck to see how it will all fit.
after my first Roo last year I knew exactly what I needed... a camelbak and a cowboy hat. just got those in the mail the other day and other than recreational supplies, gas and breakfast each day I don't plan on bringing much. I am fully prepared to enter Centeroo with nothing but H20 and the mindset that I don't want any crap to carry and hold me back from non-stop dancing!
oh yeah this weekend I also designed a banner and ordered it online to proudly wave over my campsite!
already did the tent setup / trial run awhile ago since my boyfriend is at summer camp right now and mountain jam is next weekend. Just have to gather my gear together, pick up a few last minute supplies and buy the food! And we are ready to go!

I got my canopy the other day, so I really just have odds and ends to buy. I still have to do the prep work on my tent. Work keeps sapping off my will to do anything.
Well, we just had last minute plans, and are now camping instead of going in an RV. It's my first roo, so I can't say I'll miss anything, but I was looking forward to being able to sleep late. Luckily we already have more than enough gear, and we had already hit up costco for most of our non-perishable items. All that's left is food and booze, which we'll pick up the weekend before....and I may invest in a solar shower, haven't decided yet. I'm so freakin excited!!! ;D
piece of advice on this -
most solar showers have to hang - kind of a pain. a much cheaper (and easier IMO) solution is to buy gallon jugs of water (less than $1 each) and put them on the roof of your car for about 2 hours or so before you want to bathe. the water gets good and warm, and just pour it in a big cup and go to town. i am an average sized girl and use about 1 gallon each time. my boyfriend is 6'5 and very built, and usually can still use 1 gallon b/c he doesn't have a lot of hair to wash. we have a "shower stall" that we bought from walmart last year. it is the BEST camping investment we have ever made! you can stand in there and bathe, change, relieve yourself...whatever. every show we go to, people ask about it. we also have a portable potty we bought from bass pro because i'm just not down with #2 in a porta. it stays in the shower stall and voila - instant luxary bathroom at roo!
i think the stall was like $20-$30, and it has been through roo, rothbury, & dmb (5 days worth).

I have done the gallon water jug thing as well. I saw some people with a solar shower my second year and it just seemed like a huge pain for them because they couldn't find anywhere to hang up (plus it's heavy cause it holds like 6 gallons of water).
I've barely started getting ready, just now drug out my Bonnaroo box. Gotta buy a canopy, probably air out my tent, and locate my air mattress. Need to go shopping as well, and I'm probably gonna tie-dye some more sheets for our campsite.
The nice thing about this being my fourth Bonnaroo is that I pretty much already have everything, just gotta go dig it out, lol.
