Anywho, before the end of November, I managed to finish what I promised and shared the story of my last 40 days in NYC in "Any good shows recently?" thread. Be prepared, it's almost 2500-words long.

Suppose your ashes are to be pressed into a double LP, which contains sound of your choosing. Could be music, could be the sound of your voice, could be anything.
It would probably be a combination of my favorite music (for now, I think I'd go with OK Computer) and me reading a passage written by me. I'm not sure what that passage would comprise, but it would most likely involve the reasons why I chose to be cremated and wanted my ashes to be pressed into a LP.

Why did you terrorize the boards on Oct 18, 2016 as it appears on your sig?
How many concerts do you think you watched in your life? What is your favorite concert and why?
What is the best performance you watched in 2017?
What is the title of your thesis? (I had to ask this question haha)
I was number 8 on my baseball team, and people called me snowman. because of that i made "SnowmanPJ" my AIM screen name, it just became my de facto internet name (AIM, inforoo, xbox live, etc)
Haha, the terrorizing came from this thread: inforoo.com/thread/35291/2017-headliner-prediction-thread. If i remember correctly, there was some ranking of radiohead albums (as we do in the headliner thread) and it devolved into a disagreement over facts regarding amnesiac's status as an actual album or just b-sides. it involved one of the more polarizing members of this board espousing a bad opinion/wrong facts, some people piling on, and then a general discussion people on this board singling this person out for trolling in general. tЯist♡n was just pointing out how I am typically a malicious bully around here and was the total ringleader of it all in that dumpster fire of a thread (/s).
In my life, I'd say I'm easily past 500 sets, but that includes a lot of fests. No idea on actual numbers. I should have taken better care to keep track of stuff. I have slowed down a lot since having kids and getting too old to stay out til 11 or 12 at club shows during the week.
My favorite concert is hard to answer. Based purely on music and concert experience, I would probably say radiohead at bonnaroo in 2006. it was my first time seeing them, and i was just totally blown away throughout the whole show. sensory overload for hours. I would like to say Tom Petty in 2013 at roo as well, for slightly different reasons. It was the first time mrs. snowman went back to bonnaroo with me after taking a hiatus for a few years. We don't have family out here where we live, so childcare can be really stressful sometimes, and we hadn't had a vacation or really any time away from our daughter since she was born a year prior. Tom Petty was the first artist I was ever really "into," listening to my dad's records when I was a little kid. My wife loves him as well, so there was some strong nostalgia factor for both of us, and being at a show with someone you love who is as into it as you are is just fun. Add in the little bit of "end of the fest" melancholy that comes during the last set of a weekend, it was just a great couple hours singing in the rain with my wife. The show was good, one of the best of the weekend actually, but it is a good memory because of all of those other factors.
Also, One Big Holiday was great the two times I went, seeing My Morning Jacket and hanging out in the Mayan riviera. On the first night of the first year we went, Bob Weir came out on stage and played with MMJ and it was just kismet. I was so happy.
The best performance I watched in 2017 was definitely Sigur Ros. they played at this pretty small theater here in phx, and it was just so loud and the whole building was shaking, sound waves were just enveloping us in our seats. It was intense, and beautiful.
My thesis was titled "Neural Mechanisms of Sensory Integration: Frequency domain analysis of spike and local field potential activity during arm position maintenance with and without visual feedback"
Short summary: I recorded brain signals while monkeys played in virtual reality.
Last march I went to milwuakee for work. when I woke up the first morning, there was a light dusting of snow on the ground and I realized I didn't pack warm enough clothes.
honestly one big holiday was a pretty great dream vacation.
I used to do lots of outdoors stuff when I was younger and had more time. I really like camping, hiking, mountain biking, and being outside in general. I have been looking into some adventure vacations, where you can like, backpack through jungles in costa rica or mountain bike through Kathmandu or go sailing and scuba diving around the caribbean. so I think a dream vacation for me would be some sort of outfitted adventure like that. I want to live out some indiana jones childhood fantasy. Bucket list vacations for the wife and I include Japan, china, pyramids and ancient egypt. And I just got her onboard for a glastonbury vaction in a couple years.
there's this place in memphis called Huey's, and they have been voted as the best burger there for like, 30 something years. I don't actually think it is the best burger in the city, but it is a great little family friendly, kinda quirky bar. And the burgers are really good, and I love their onion rings. I've been going there with my family since I was a kid, so it's just a comforting, familiar place to grab a laid back bite and some beer. I always go at least once everytime I make it back home, usually more.
After a night of drinking on beale street though, I really enjoy a dyer's burger. they cook them in grease in a giant skillet. each night, they filter the grease and reuse it the next day, and theyve been doing that since they opened like, forever ago. seriously they have their grease insured. it is super greasy, not something you could eat every day, but delicious when you have a stomach full of booze.
