I thought I read something a while back on bonnaroo.com that said you were allowed to bring in a charcoal grill, but I saw no mention of a propane grill. I have a small propane grill that rolls off the small blue propane tubes, not the big tanks... is there a rule against bringing these into the 'Roo, or are these okay? Here's my exact grill I want to being in - anybody have any thoughts?

I've heard that you aren't allowed to bring in propane grills, but I'm not entirely sure. My crew isn't going to risk it, so we're just bringing a small charcoal one and a bag of briquets.
IMO, this doesn't make any sense as it seems as though it would be more dangerous to have the hot charcoals than a bottle of propane hanging around... I guess they're worried about the explosion hazard when a bunch of drunk people (i.e., me) try to light a propane grill.

This was my exact thought.... I mean, WTF are you gonna do with a bunch of hot effing coals? wait for them to go out when you are done? better to just turn the grill off and let it cool down - much safer, and if somebody asked me about it, that's exactly what I would say.....
We have a propane grill, exactly like the one pictured in the first post. We also run ours off of a 20 lbs. tank. Never had any issue with bringing it in.

I've brought a small propane camping grill every year that uses 16.4 oz cylinders. They actually sell the 16.4 ounce propane cylinders at The General Store.
Hank Hill would be proud.
(Hint: don't turn your propane cylinders into incendiary devices, lobbing them indiscriminately into the sea of tents and everyone should be pretty cool with your grill. K?)
This reminds me - in '07 we were hanging out during the Police back at our campsite and all of the sudden the jeep parked two cars down from us caught on fire on the inside. Everyone started screaming at everyone else to get away from the Jeep, security showed up with fire extinguishers and put it out fast.
Apparently these geniuses put a very hot charcoal grill in their car on top of a sleeping bag and left, and naturally it caught fire. When we got back from the latenights they were gone. They left all of their burned sleeping bags and blankets and everything on the ground where they were, so we had a good time playing with those the next morning.

I have a single burner propane stove and a small propane grill that I take with me everywhere I camp out. I brought them both to 'roo last year with no issue.
