Im stopping at the store 5 Below today to pick up some glow bracelets. I got like 50 of all different sizes (necklaces, bracelets, earrings) for 5$. I know its not as great of a deal as the 1000 for 45$ but I am all about the instant gratification and I will have them right away at least.
I bought 300 bracelets for $25 on eBay. Definately do not have them in plain sight when entering the festival grounds. They will be taken. If you just get searched by a staffer and not a cop you should be fine as long as they are in your suitcase or something.
okay going to derail here for a second.... i didn't know glow sticks were contraband!! do they prohibit ALL or just those with large quantities? we have about three packs of five bracelets and the same of necklaces plus two glowstick ball thingies. just enough for three to wear and a little to share with kiddies in family camp. are we going to get hassled?

also, should we NOT be wearing them to centeroo?
once again, it depends on who is searching you. in 2007 i tried to go into centeroo with like 3 glow bracelets on my wrist... the guy told me he had to take them. I pointed to some other girls in the next line who had just gone through who were literally COVERED in glowsticks, and the guy was just like, "sorry, i didnt search them..." and took my bracelets.
I would wait to crack them until i was past the gates.
Mainly at the entrance gates, walking into centeroo you need to hide them and not wear them. It is a rule they have.
Actually, I wear ONE while walking into centeroo. It's a dummy/red herring... When they ask me to take it off & hand it over, I do the old "Aw, Jeeze man! Really??? Why do you gotta spoil my good time?!? I ain't hurtin' no one... " routine while I give it to them.
They're so preoccupied in me throwing an ever so minor hissy fit over 1, they miss the other 600 hidden in my bag.

My friend had a few on her wrist and the guy took them, but totally overlooked the fact that she had a glowstick necklace hanging down her back. Again, yay psychology.

Just getting into the campgrounds, you SHOULD be able to bring them. They're not on the list of "what not to bring" on the website. If you have a ton with you then it's sort of obvious what you're trying to do so it's not impossible they might try to take them if they find them - if it happens, I would definitely argue and say that nothing said you couldn't bring them, say that you want them to decorate your campsite so you can find it, etc.
Going into Centeroo...yeah, they'll get taken. Maybe you'll luck out and someone won't, but I went in with a single bracelet the first time I was going into Centeroo (and I had given each of my friends one too) and they took them. So stupid - I could EASILY sneak in quite a few without even applying any effort. I was really tempted to say that to the guy who took mine...like, you realize that if I just hadn't cracked it until I was in there you would have had no idea......but of course he really doesn't care at all, so I didn't bother.
