searched and searched and didn't find much.
So I wear a leatherman multi tool on my belt on most days and i was wondering, do the fine folks and AC supafly consider this to be a weapon? I know it has a knife on it but that is not it's intended purpose. What do you guys or girls think.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

I had to take a little knife back to camping from VIP last year - the type with scissors and a nail file. I would not plan on it making it into Centeroo.
In 06 during Jerry Douglas a taper a sweet open reel Nagra tape deck that I drooled over and he had some kind of a problem and asked if anybody had a leatherman and boy I was johnny on the spot and felt like I was in middle school and a 6th grader and just helped out an 8th grader. So you never know.

I have had my leatherman confiscated from me in Helsinki going through the airport. THe same leatherman was also stolen with a bag full of stuff in New Orleans and I chased a crackhead through the ghetto to get it back and did (that was insane). I have lost it for half a year and blamed someone on stealing it. I usually lose it a couple of times a year. It is a prized possession of mine. I dont think its necesary for centeroo, but you never know when you may need it. Definitely having it at the camp though.
It's seriously indispensable. I use mine multiple times a day at home and at work.
However I got patted down entering centeroo in '06 and absentmindedly had it on my belt. Guy grabs it out of my sheath, I grab it back. (Don't like grabbing. )
He says that I can't come in with it, I say "I just walked 35 minutes from camp in BFE; there is NO way I'm walking that 2 more times just to bring this back to camp and come back here. It's fine, don't worry..." and just kind of walked past the guy into centeroo.
Hadn't even considered the fate of my Leatherman...
As indispensable as they truly are, I can't think of any reason I will need it in Centeroo, and I definitely don't want to lose it after so many years. I really can't see myself enjoying the trip back to my campsite just to leave it there either.
You never know when a Predator is knocked off course in pakistan and lands in Centeroo . Then who is gonna be whinin' cause we couldn't bring our Leathermans? the Government ,that's who.

On the subject of the multi-tool, I was just going to bring my small tool box, containing your normal run of the mill sockets, screwdrivers, and pliers, I never considered the possibility that it might not be acceptable for entry. Anyone want to drop some knowledge on me?

a friend who came with me in 2007 was told at the centeroo searches that he could either let them take his knife or bring it back to camp ... it was a mini leatherman type thing.
---- so it probably ultimately depends on who checks you and how thorough they are, etc. just like anything else.

They took my hammer last year and almost took my whole tool box. I kinda went off when they said I couldn't go in with my tool box, needless to say after I blew some stem they said the hell with it, "Don't stab anyone with your screwdrivers."

A leatherman is worth every penny you pay for it, i have had mine for ten years and the blade is still lethally sharp. Dont let price deter you. also check ebay, sometimes you can find some good ones on there.

^i agree! i had a leatherman Kick (the most basic one) for 4 or 5 years and recently upgraded to the Surge. They are worth the price.......also mine have nifty little scissors that are really sharp.
They took my hammer last year and almost took my whole tool box. I kinda went off when they said I couldn't go in with my tool box, needless to say after I blew some stem they said the hell with it, "Don't stab anyone with your screwdrivers."
That's dumb, I'm just gonna throw my hammer in my tent bag and hope for the best with the rest, thanks for the info my friend. +1

Yeah, I would def try to hide your hammers. I couldn't believe they took it. I had to borrow the neighbors to hammer in the tent stakes.
