so i'm supposed to start a new job the day after bonnaroo. this means i will have to leave pretty early sun. i want to stay till the end of erykah badu, but i probably need to leave earlier than that. how would i go about leaving that early? if no one around us has left it would be impossible to get out. what do i do?
I dont really know but I would think the best thing to do is when ur driving to ur spot, ask the guy if you could wait off to the side till the end of the row and then take that edge spot.

Let all your neighbors know early enough that you need to get out sunday. talk to them early morning thurs, fri, or saturday and let them know you plan on leaving and if you can work something out (moving cars on saturday night or sunday morning or something)
hmm, how far away is day parking and is there an extra charge for it?. because we are actually thinking of not setting a tent up anyway. we are thinking of taking a truck with a canopy or minivan and just sleeping in there.
Just bring a fiver for the attendant, and have a member of your party walk a little ahead and explain it to him. I am sure they will put you near the edge. There is not a charge for day parkig, but also I think it is patrolled and you cannot sleep/camp there.
i have always seen lots of open room on Sunday, but with Phish it may not be that way this year.
in 07 we left after white stripes, but so did lots of other people. so it was easy to get out. leaving a few hours earlier than that, i'm not sure how easy it will be.
Try to get on an edge, otherwise... just being honest.... you are going to have a problem. Really.
Ill second this we usually leave Sunday before the headliner and intend to do the same this year. 07 we had no problems because we were in VIP however in 06 we had a huge issue getting out. Our neighbors were complete douchebags the entire weekend (whole nother story I wont delve into) but we asked them while we were setting up Thursday if moving things around early Sunday would be an issue so we could get out at a decent hour (and by decent hour I meant before 4). they assured us they would help move things around when we left. Sunday morning rolls around and they take off from camp around noon while we were packing our stuff up telling us they would be back soon to unstake their tent and whatnot to get our car out. We went to Centeroo to catch a few more shows and returned around 3 hoping we could catch them and help them move stuff. They didnt return to their camp until 8 that night. Needless to say I was livid by this point because we sat for 5 hours in the car having already packed everything and waiting for them to return. The people i was with just wanted to unstake their tent and move all their stuff and leave. In the spirit of Roo, I couldnt consciously do . I have a feeling that Sunday is going to be rough getting out, but hopefully its not. Ive kinda talked my camp into being ready to stay the extra night if need be because I dont want to have to go through that again, but I would like to attempt to get on the end and get out Sunday after Snoop
because I have no need to see Phish for a second time just like I had no need to see WSP in 07 and Phil Lesh in 06. I have a ten hour drive and a daughter at home. If I stay til Monday thats a whole nother day I need to take off of work and a whole nother day I dont see my daughter.
How do you know ahead of time that you have no need to see any band? You might get there and feel an absolute need to see ____________.
because if I dont enjoy the music then I have no desire to see them. Im not a huge Phish fan and Ill end up possibly catching some of them Friday night, seen WSP waaaaaay too many times on the farm, and Phil is just eh to me. If Bruce wouldve ended up taking the Sunday headlining spot then I MAY have reconsidered staying Sunday night. However, my daughter trumps all. Being gone 4 days from her is enough for me.
Well that fixed that. I really didnt want to cut off the points but when you are getting screwed with for nothing it sucks. I havent been trying to start sh!t or anything. Just having casual convos but I guess one mans conversation is another mans argument.
I think the headie points as a whole should disappear when we get this close to the fest. Shouldnt it be about happiness and fun when we are this close to being on the farm?

I didnt smite you but if its from this thread I could possibly see why. It is about happiness and fun when we are that close to the farm, so I would take your own advice. OP wanted some advice regarding a situation, answers were given. You questioned intentions. Whether is was an innocent question or not, it may have had a negative connotation to some.
All I did was ask why you always leave early. I wasnt arguing or being negative in anyway. I dont care if you leave on Thursday, but if you said you do I just might ask why. You put info out there and I asked about it. I dont see how that could be viewed as negative but to each their own. Its not like I called you a loser or questioned you for not liking any certain band.

If we got rid of the points every time someone got smited decided to bitch about it, we would never have them.

What a shame that would be.
Why is judging people even a part of this site or related to bonnaroo? Seems to be counterintuitive to what Bonnaroo is about.
Yeah I have read all that. Didnt think it was a big deal until I started getting hit with the -. Its just you start associating it with bonnaroo and then it gives you a bad taste, at which point you have to remember that this is the internet and people will always be people. Either way I think its a bad look.

i would have moved their shit in a new york minute - especially since you told them way in advance

you are far too kind
In hindsight I probably shouldve especially after the way they acted all weekend but they had their cooler and a bunch of stuff in their tent so I couldn't just unstake it and restake it. It wouldve involved actually moving stuff from inside their tent and I know how mad I would be if I came back to camp and there were people in my tent moving stuff around. IDK hopefully I have awesome neighbors this year
ooh I have to leave sunday afternoon also, I'm a first timer and never even considered I wouldn't be able to leave when I have to. Is there no aisle between rows? I'm a volunteer if that matters, is volunteer parking less compacted?

Not sure about the volunteer area...I would assume that its less crowded there than GA. There are rows between cars but thats where you set up your camp. If you can get to the outside of the rows you're good
We left early last year and it just so happened that like three cars around us had dead batteries (really). My buddy and I ended up physically pushing the cars out of our way. People were cool about it so it wasn't a big deal, but it seemed like it was going to be a major hassle and you can definitely be trapped

we left sunday evening last year too, b/c we're not big WSP fans. we had no issues at all and were out in 5 min. (we were right smack in the middle too, not on an end.) now this year we'll 100% be staying for phish...as i think A LOT of people will be. good luck.
6.7: roooo 6:19: roger waters playing the wall 6:22: dave matthews band 6.27: trampled by turtles 6:28-29: phish 7:14: forecastle festival & mmj on the belle of louisville

I def would have unstaked it and let it lay on the ground the rest of the night. And probably run over their tent on the way out. haha
