I didn't need any break-in with my serape cruisers; they felt good from the get-go and I've put some miles on them (mine fit a bit loose so YMMV). I did spray them good with 3M Scotch Guard Outdoor Fabric spray (do this outside and don't breathe it). I use this stuff on my backpacks, camera bags, and other outdoor fabrics like my Ez-Up canopy. Really helps shed the water and mud.
I am waiting for my package this morning to show. What kinda Sanuks do you have? and Any tips , how to break them in best? Cleaning so on and so on..
You win. i've had my Sanuks for two years and i love them. I didn't do anything to break them in. I also didn't spray them with anything. Just wear the sh*t out of them.
I've hiked 25 miles in 2 days in them, attended music festivals, and gone canoe camping in them with no problems. they are god's gift to our feet.
So, what you should do is go home, put them on, and dance for the next 15 hours to let your feet show how much they appreciate the purchase.
*note* i promise i do not work for the sanuk company. after reading what i wrote that's probably impossible to believe.
If you are a big dude like myself, 6'2 235 lbs, I don't reccomend wearing them for the whole weekend. Last year I did this and my ankles blew up on me by the 3rd day. Without good support for your ankles, be prepared to be in some pain! I love my Sanuks, but just bring a pair of shoes with good support is my two cents!
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
Bought a pair of Meshed Up Sidewalk Surfers for last years 'roo. I loved them. I'll be wearing them again this year along with a green canvas pair I just bought. Both came from 6pm.com. Great price and got them in one day!

I have 2 pair of Sanuks... My first pair I bought before Bonnaroo last year... They are amazing... They do need a little break in for fabric to loosen up but not much... Kinda like a new pair of sandals the bottoms will mold to your feet perfect... I bought my second pair the other day... brand new for $15... This boutique store here in town was going out of business and hand them on sale woo! My only complaint is mine smell terrible all the time... Lots of wear without socks they can smell pretty terrible... But a quick washing machine wash cures this! If you will be breaking them in by not wearing them stuff a couple pairs of thick socks into the toes and heels of the Sanuks and leave them for a few days... They wont be completely broke in but the fabric will loosen up some.
My attempt at acquiring a pair of sanuks could fill a novel (which is still uncomplete) You all convinced me to get a pair, so I checked their website, but wasn't about to buy a pair online without trying them on, for fear of getting the wrong size. After looking up where they are sold, I drove all over town looking for them. I finally found a store that carried them, but only to size 12, I happen to need the 13.
Now that I knew the size, I ordered from their website. shipping was 3-5 days, butr I was moving back home from school in a week. I had them sent to my school. 3-5 turned into 9 days for UPS to ship. after talking to sanuk, ups, and my school, the school said they would refuse the package because I no longer live there. aparently they didn't refuse the package and it just arrived today. I am the only one that can pick up the package with a photo ID, so not even a friend can re mail it to me. I NEED THESE SHOES. they are the most comfortable things my feet have ever experienced. I will let you know how this story ends.

lol tibbs, I know the feeling. I'm always yappin about how much I've loved my 'nuks over the years people think I'm selling them.
Nothing to do to them but wear them morning noon and night. Once you get home you can throw them in the wash on light cycle if you don't mind a little more fraying on the edges (of course dependent on the kind you have). I went to Italy and Greece during a hurricane and had my sanuks just splashing around the whole trip. When I got home they smelled kinda moldy so I threw them in the wash. Good as new!
I have some cream Donna's and the Snow Angels. Had the Donna's for a couple years now. The ones I had prior to that lasted forever. Enjoyyyy

I bought some kingstons for roo. At first, they were a little tight and I though that I'd have to cut the elastic a little. But they soon broke in and I love them. GF loves hers too. I don't think that they are a shoe/sandal that I could wear all day and night though.

Mine are great, I have the hemp edition ones. They were a little snug when I got them, but now they're pretty loose. They're incredibly comfortable, and I want to go buy more My only regret is that I've heard the canvas shoes dry out very quickly, but mine take hours to dry out. Then again, I have hemp sandals, and that's pretty cool, so it's a trade off.

Next time order from Zappos.com. Zappos has never failed to get me my shoes in 2 days or less... and it is free shipping both ways... If the shoes do not fit you call them up and they send you the size you need immediately and send the return label to return the ones that do not fit... I had one pair that did not fit and I had the new pair in my hands before the old pair was sent off... and they carry every style of Sanuks in just about every size imaginable! And their prices are awesome... I am a huge fan of Zappos.
This is the Sanuk page on Zappos for anyone interested. They have 7-13 for regular sizes and a big and tall size for some shoes that are 15-18 I believe.

i use a little razor and i slit the elastic bands that keep them on to loosen them up a bit. thats all!
i also have some of the suede flips and they are cool i mentioned on the shoes thread that i bought my dad and brother some of the suede loafers that look like regular shoes - they love them but im sure they would get ruined at roo
I got my first pair of Sanuks 2 weeks ago thanks to this forums, I got the Pick Pockets, I have not taken them off till today because I picked up some Kingstons, I wore them to see John Fogerty tonight. I love these shoes.

What kind do you have? I'm a click away from ordering the Getaways and came here to see some ladies' opinions first...
chooky, i have the scribbles and a pair of the striped ones that are on sale at sierra trading post. i also have a pair of the black suede flip flips and a pair of the really simple beaded ones.
like i said...i wont wear the suede ones to roo because i think they may get ruined due to the material. i think i got the two pair of flip flops off sierra trading post for like 5-7 bucks. i got the striped ones for 13$. the scribbles were about 40.00 - i didnt get those on sale.
i get a lot of coupons from sierra trading post so the fips may have been discounted due to that - but you can find cheap sanuks on sierra if you look for a while.
the bumpers are 17.95 - i think i get 25% for being a frequent buyer. if you keep watching the site they will have more on sale soon..but if you want them for roo....the bumpers may be the best deal

thanks to everyone for the tips
All i can say is, after receiving them on Friday . I spent whatever time i could outside this weekend and at one point i had to stop and think am i even wearing anything on my feet? Yeah they're that amazing!
Oh and i have the rouge in brown. Bought at shoes.com. Though Zappos is amazing, in their customer service ( only really known by word of mouth ) I found a few discount coupons from random googled sites, and end up paying 46.75 with free shipping!
Thanks to Inforoo and my bf who was addicted to it way before I was, I've had my Sanuk Donnas for about two months. They are lightweight, ultra-comfy, and cute as a button. My feet love them. I didn't need to break them in. There isn't any area of my foot that they rub but I don't think I can wear them all day, every day. Not enough cushion for me.
