What kind of life are you leading where you just stumble upon these sort of things?
It's been over a decade fifteen years since I've seen this batch of vinyl. It was mostly Americana with a few 'wtf' soul albums in the mix. I remember the Loretta Lynn on Decca but somehow forgot I ever purchased that album.
I also stumbled on some Johnny Cash albums on Sun, too. Again, no clue I owned these.
Happy to take any duplicates off your hands! haha.
Tyler Childers released a mostly instrumental fiddle record called "Long Violent History". This six minute video of him explaining the record has been making the rounds. Preaching to the choir here, but worth a few minutes of your time to watch.
net proceeds from sales of the album go to the Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund, whose mission is to support underserved communities in the Appalachian region.
i just preordered the regular vinyl, but there is also a 78RPM single version which is cool if you have a record player that is 78rpm capable.
EDIT: also you can listen to the album on Spotify, it's cool.

I've got a pair of Mercyful Fate albums going up on Discogs next week. I had pre-ordered through Popmarket before it was officially announced and then picked up Melissa and Don't Break The Oath when it was.
I had actually forgotten about the bundle till I got a tracking notification yesterday.
Seriously though, I might have some stuff you're into. Feel free to shoot me a PM.

Anybody pick up anything today for round 2 of Record Store Day?
I went out later around 6 so missed out on a number of things I would have bought (Brandi Carlile, ODB....though didn't realize the price, Big L) but still picked up a few RSD items and then got sucked in to the soundtrack section and ended up with 3 more (that I thought were harder to come by but oh well).
Got:
Hendrix - Message to Love/Changes 7" Roger Waters - The Wall Live in Berlin Primus - Suck on This
and then when I dipped into regular browsing I got soundtracks for:
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (awesome soundtrack) Watchmen Vol 1. (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross) Watchmen Vol 2. (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross)
I swear when I looked months ago (maybe around the time of initial release) it seemed hard to find the Watchmen soundtracks they put out so I thought I found something huge and then I see they're all pretty much available on Amazon and NIN website lol. Oh well....I didn't spend extra on them and I wanted them anyway so still a win.
I was debating the Best of Jerry Garcia box set but it was $80 so may hold off on it. My store had a ton left so maybe a later purchase. The ODB release I didn't realize was a bunch of 7" and while I do have one or two of those kind of things (Full album on multiple singles) it's not really my favorite.

Sadly, my car shit the bed in the worst possible way last week and yesterday was my shopping day. No records but I got a sweet dad-mobile.
I haven't seen much that I'm dying for so I'll be content shopping online. It's the same with the drop on the 24th. The only thing I want is that 5 x lp Grateful Dead box but I'm not sure if I'll go in person or shop online.
No idea how "Spotify exclusivity" works (I'm guessing I just get the email and that's it) but Bicep is doing a white vinyl issue of their new album Isles with an alternate cover. 500 copies.

Announcing The White Stripes Greatest Hits - the first-ever official anthology of recordings from Jack and Meg White – out 12/4 via Third Man Records & Columbia Records and available for pre-order on CD, double LP, & digital now. The only deluxe limited edition colored vinyl is also available as part of Third Man Records Vault Package #46. To reveal one of the 26 songs on the tracklist today, the band has dug into the archives to share a never-before-seen live performance video of “Ball and Biscuit” from a 2003 show in Tokyo, up now on The White Stripes YouTube channel. We get that the idea of “Greatest Hits” may seem irrelevant in the era of streaming, but we also wholeheartedly believe that great bands deserve “Greatest Hits.” The White Stripes are a great band with great fans and it feels like a greatest hits compilation from them is not only appropriate but absolutely necessary. Pre-order/pre-save the album, order #TMRVault 46, and watch here: thewhitestripes.lnk.to/TWSGH

I love the White Stripes, but I'm torn on the greatest hits.
On one hand, great songs all in one place and I love some of those b-sides. But on the other, I'm just a few records away from having all of their studio albums. So... kinda redundant to buy that for maybe Jolene and Ball and Biscuit live...

If you haven't heard Chubby and the Gang yet, I'd say order this blind. It's my favorite punk record this year. It's almost as good the first time I heard Eddie and the Hot Rods. Plain and simple: they rip.

it was way more work than i thought it would be. i pulled them all off their shelves and stacked them by letter. luckily i only had the Ms and Ns tumble one time.
i put little labels for the letters. torn up post-it notes but i'd like to do something that will stick better (but can still be removed when things get shuffled around).
what i learned is i have a LOT of Gs (Genesis, Grateful Dead), Ms and Ns (metallica, nine inch nails, new order), and Ps (Phish). lot of Ds too but it's a mishmash of Miles Davis, Drive-By Truckers, and others.
you can see things got a little tight at the end, i left too much room early on. ended up stacking a couple white stripes boxes off to the left to make some room.
anyway i'm really happy i'll be able to find records now and didn't have any place else to share it.
I'm sure I'll add some Diamond and Krule eventually so I'll probably need to just dedicate a King section.
Jam packed everything for the move into two crates (picture discs/45s aside), still have Mastodon/T swift pending so I'll probably need to open up another shelf on the kalax for records

The easy route
It's quick and simple solution if you don't wanna waste a lot of money.
If you have a jigsaw or know someone who does, I'd go to a Lowes type place and buy some thin plywood and just make sectional dividers.
Trying to alphabetize is the worst. My heart goes out to you.
Scratch that: I do mine by genre and then alphabetical. It's efficient but God I hate redoing over and over and over. Mrs. GL can always tell when I gave up the last time. She finds random shit in my "WTF" section that defies categories.
E2: I'm thinking of something like this for my genre cards.

That sounds like a headache for the most straightforward of tastes, let alone the genre-bending shit you listen to. Though I love that you've given up and created a WTF category.
Alphabetical by artist, then chronological if I have multiple releases by an artist. It's the only way I've found that doesn't end with me on the floor pondering the meaning of funk.

Oh, totally chronological within the artists as well. It just makes sense.
My genres are pretty basic.
Like I'll include reggae with world and have a general "experimental" section. I could break those down but who cares except me. I've got it narrowed down to 16 now. Krautrock doesn't deserve its own but it's my collection.
'WTF' came about with comedy albums I own but you're gonna find like 'Folk Ballads From The Spanish Civil War' and May West "Queen of Sex" in there. I discovered I had a few Nancy Sinatra albums I didn't know I owned.

My step-dad 'thinks' he can do this on his laser cutter. It should be an interesting holiday this year.
those record dividers are a brilliant idea. i have some old crap vinyl in the attic that would work for that. but i like the way my crates are labelled now, because I can stand back and look at them head on and see the letters.
regarding organization, before the alphabetization i did have my jazz and classical separated, and kind of had my dance music separated, since listening to those typically requires a different mood from everything else which to me falls under the big tent of "pop music", as defined in High Fidelity. I've only been living with my new alphabetized library for a day, so it could just be newness, but I listened to vinyl all day yesterday and it was great. Having a proper order has made me more engaged with my library.
And having to re-sort for new purchases is what got me into a completely disorganized library in the first place, i feel your pain on that. but these days my purchases are much fewer and further between. i think i'm going to order three more crates from my crate guy to give the collection a little more breathing room and space to grow. those should have me good for a while.

A four-disc vinyl set of Beyoncé’s historic headlining Coachella performance on two weekends in April 2018.
Beyoncé was the first African American woman to headline the festival and her performances received immediate widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike for the staging and celebration of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
The set includes over two dozen songs that moved over 125,000 concert goers in the Valley. The epic pyramid-shaped bleachers held some 100 dancers and band, with special guest performers including Solange, JAY-Z, and Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, who brought Destiny’s Child magic, harmony and nostalgia.
