I got one of those, cd, record, cassett, and radio things for christmas a few years ago and that works great for me, I have never had a problem with it
So instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd just ask here:
What kind of turntables do you guys have? I've been looking into buying a new one after the needle on the vintage one my dad gave me finally wore out... I've been told I would probably come out better just buying a new one as to trying to find a replacement needle ...though I doubt that is true I was just curious as to your guys' opinions on new vs. old and brands and whatnot. I've seen some pretty standard turntables for a pretty penny so I was just looking for someone to drop some knowledge
I can't find it on the Technosonic website, so maybe it was discontinued or something? I really don't know a whole lot about turntables... This is the only one that I've owned, and it was given to me as a gift so I never did any research or anything looking into what would be the best options and all that.
It sure seems that it would be cheaper just to fix the needle on your old one, but like I said I really don't know much about 'em

I got one like that - where it's like an "all in one" thing and is small with built in speakers. I didn't like it too much because the speakers weren't great and when I tried to plug in headphones, the headphone jack fell into the thing. So there was just a whole left lol. I returned it and got a real turntable and connect it to my own speakers.
I'd suggest hitting up bestbuy or some other big electronics store - they usually have 3 or 4 models there. If you don't mind okay speakers you can try one of those all in one things - they are usually pretty cheap but you get what you pay for.
Grand Ole Party DMB- Big Whiskey Black Keys- Magic Potion Against me!- Axl Rose, As the Eternal Cowboy
Gotta love the vinyl, I wish there was a vinyl shop close to my home
+1 for your Against Me! vinyl. I want to buy their vinyl, but I have all of their cds. It's an internal struggle of mine. Maybe I'll sell the cd, and buy the vinyl. Same with MGMT. I'd love Oracular Spectacular on vinyl.
Just added White Rabbits "It's Frightening" to my collection last night. That came with the cd as well. Not a code to get the mp3s, but the cd. Thought that was pretty .

I'm always thrilled to see the resurgance in vinyl appreciation. My collection is pretty megre (about 350 or so including maybe 50 45's. I was picking through the bins at a used bookstore a few weeks ago and some college freshmen came up next to me. One said "We should get a record player. they're sooo trendy" in all seriousness. I couldn't help but chuckle.
Anyway, My last purchace was at the animal Collective show a few nights ago. Strawberry Jam and Black Dice: Beaches & Canyons.
And people should start posting pics of any colored vinyl/picture discs they have. I love to see all the pretty colors.

A Voice of Music Model 568 console with tuner and Model 103 amplfied speaker system, circa 1957. Recently restored all the tubes in the speakers, and it sounds so warm and present you'd never think it's more than 20 years older than I am.

Picked up the new Paul's Boutique and OK Computer reissues yesterday, and a Guided By Voices EP. The packaging on the Beastie Boys LP is fantastic!!!! Never seen a triple gatefold before
