hi all tix now in hand, i have a concern: we have 2 ga folk riding down with us... the plan is to drop them off for tent-only as we roll onto the farm. has anyone done something similar? can anyone tell me what to expect? will there be trouble at vip check-in? id welcome any suggestions. thanks evan
I don't think there will be any problems at VIP check-in, but on the road that goes to the festival / VIP area. In years past they have checked for VIP wrist bands of people in the car entering. I guess you could drop them off somewhere first and they could hike in.
thanks gene. btw, i enjoy your rv posts and guidelines, if you are indeed THAT gene. anyway, im trying to get a couple of kids, or maybe just one :-( (my daughter's friends) into tent only asap, and maybe drag their crap from the bus via wagon to them so they dont have to hump as much. maybe ill send them on bikes. i wish i could upgrade them w/o wasting their GA tix. any/alll further insight appreciated. hey, another question for you: im towing my element and have 2 rv passes. do u think they might let me park the E next to bus since i have tik, or should i unhook and send the toad in seperate to the vip car camping area (kids want to camp on their own)? thanks again evan
You can upgrade GA tix to VIP tix through one of the travel packages on the bonnaroo.com site. I know b/c I inquired early on about that package. It basically upgrades your GA ticket to a VIP ticket without a parking pass (it was set up for singles who wanted to go VIP and planned to fly in for 'Roo).

If the one person is camping in general admission / tent only, let them walk in. you can bring their stuff over (or toss it over the fence) easily from the VIP area.
You can have your toad with your coach or un-hook and give it to the kids. I don't think they will need a car. They could just take their gear from the coach and walk it over to the tent section.

In the VIP information guide it says that only VIPers are allowed at VIP check-in and any others will be turned away. Also, like Gene said, all passengers had to show their wristbands multiple times on the road into the Farm.

so is there a logical place to drop them off so they dont have to walk that far?
you would think they would let us drive in with them, and let them walk to tent-only from there. its not like they will be able to access VIp once they leave without the wristbands anyway. doesnt make sense.
