I've been reading in a lot of checklists, and muckboots are always mentioned. I have one big question though... Is anyone familiar with Muckboot BRAND muck boots? I read on their website that they're "Made in standard width's but the materials will stretch to comfortably fit up to a EEEE width" or something to that effect.
I've had one god awful time trying to find anything that fits, and muckboot co. sounded like my best option at getting something that fits AND is water proof.
I have extremely wide feet, probably a EEE, and I'm wondering if they really do flex that much. I just ordered a pair that will be here a few days before I fly out, and I'm concerned they might not fit. I even got the next size up just in case.
I ordered relatively short ones that come about 1/3rd of the way up my calf, if there's mud I hope this will be good enough.
I've not heard of the "Muck" brand of boot, but if you have wide feet, try looking at Dunham brand boots. It's New Balance's boot brand and comes in wide widths. My feet are ~11.5 4E/5E (one foot is actually wider than the other), I picked up a pair of Dunham Helicor waterproof boots in size 11.5 4E from Sierra Trading and they fit perfectly. Dunhams are the only brand of boot I've found that I fit into. Don't know if Sierra still has them, it was late last year, but even if they don't, take a look at Dunhams. I also have a steel toed work shoe from them that has held up very well.
