I really can't consider this one of the worst conflicts ever... Beasties may be legends in their own right I suppose, but nowhere near the caliber of Byrne in my opinion.
As far as conflicts go this year, I'd say this was the easiest one of all for me to make a decision on. I actually didn't even consider it a conflict

Oh, that's right, I forgot... you weren't at Langerado 2008 with the rest of us
In anycase, I'm seeing Byrne for free in a Brooklyn Park a week from tomorrow... so for me... half-hour'ish of the Beasties... followed by the VAST majority of Byrne!
2010: 3/12: The Bad Plus/Happy Apple/Buffalo Collision/The Bad Apple 6/10-13: Bonnaroo 6/19: Rock the Garden 7/30-31: Mid West Music Fest 8/21: Los Hombres Calientes 8/31: Marijuana Death Squads 9/11: The Book of Right On w/ City on the Make 9/23: Of Montreal w/ Janelle Monae 10/4: Broken Social Scene 11/23: Grinderman
this is the worst conflict ever. beasties get the nod because my wife is like who is david byrne? i wish i could see both. hopefully i get to see the end of byrne after beasties.

honestly I wanted to check out byrne when the schedule came out and everyone talked about how great he (and talking heads) are. I was never a fan - not because I disliked him/them. But because I was ignorant to their music and never really knew who Byrne was until the last year or two.
I was going to check out his show.....but I honestly don't know ANY songs of his. Sure there may be a tune or two in my head that i'd recognize.......but I know the beasties more and also want a halfway decent spot for phish. so i'll be camping at the What stage from beasties to phish. i'm just glad I didn't get a bunch of byrne stuff and make him a "can't-miss" show because then i'd have quite the conflict on my hands.
