Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
So this is my first time going to Bonnaroo and I'm super excited. Unfortunately, I won't be able to leave Michigan for Bonnaroo until around 2 or 3 on Thursday. That means I will probably end up in Manchester around Midnight. I would love to get there Thursday morning but have to wait for a friend to get out of work. I'm hoping that once we're set up, we can still wander around and experience the 'Roo before all the music on Friday.
My questions are:
Is it worth it still, to arrive and set up camp at night, in the dark?
Are there still a few enterances open that late or will we be directed through just one? If so, does that mean a really long wait in line?

Get there and set up as early as possible neighbors will probably lend a hand if you need help setting up. After set up crack a beer and get to know the neighbors, check out centeroo, or just get some rest for the busy weekend you have in store. Seriously, I want to spend as much time on the Farm as possible. Once you've been there you'll understand!
I am not sure about the enterances but I doubt with you getting in around midnight that you would have to wait very long at all.
There's still more than one entrance open, a lot of people have to wait to get out of work on Thursday as well. Setting up at night has never been a problem for my group, plenty of people have carlights on around you, just make sure you have easily accessible flashlights to help you find everything you need. Once you get there, walking around on Thursday night should be a blast, there will be plenty of people up and partying and wandering around like you/
Although, in terms of setting up camp, what alternative do you have? Just go with the flow.... pitch your camp and then set out to see the sites... Worried about setting up in the dark? A floodlamp in the million candle power range should do ya right. <$30 at walmart/sporting goods stores.
As for the traffic.... it's a crap shoot. I've always hit it early on thursday (4-6am), and never had more than an hour wait at the main (i think?) gate. Just follow the police....
It's definitely worth it to get there at any time. Don't worry about it being dark, plenty of people around to assist if needed. Bring some flashlights and you should be cool
We have set up in the past on Wednesday night - it is actually a blast at night - because you wake up the next morning and look around and it is unbelievable!
I've set up between 1 and 2 AM the last four Roos and one of the reasons is because I set up around noon five years ago. It's sooo much better setting up in the cool of the night versus the blazing TN sun. You won't have any problem seeing -- at least I never have.
Get there as soon as you can, though. There is no downside to being around 80,000 like-minded folks for as long as possible.

You'd be surprised at how much light you will actually have. It's not too dark. Just set up and relax. I think we'll be trying to set up at night as well.......gonna head into roo wednesday night/thursday morning around 2ish hopefully.
