Hey guys, we got four of us jamming into a car for our first bonnaroo. However, we all would like to bring our own individual tents. Can some of you seasoned rooers tell me roughly how much space is provided for tents per car? Would hate to show up and be told we cant have all our stuff because we carpooled.
do tent only. you are only supposed to have around 100 square feet of space. and 4 tents to 1 car is too much. consider doubling up in tents and you should be cool camping at your car.
You are supposed to have 10 foot by the width of your car - sometimes you get more - sometimes you get less - just be ready to stake your claim when you park - oh yeah - it helps if you swing wide - gives you a little more room
You certainly won't have enough space for 4 tents at your car. You'll have enough room for two tents if you aren't bringing a shade canopy. Tent-only, as mentioned before, is a good option for you if you don't have a lot of gear to haul besides your tents, and you are determined to use 4 tents.
My group of 4 people is bringing two cars. We'll have 2 tents and a 10x10 shade canopy.
Four tents seem a little much for one car. But 10 feet and the width of your car is something i never saw enforced. It's a race to claim your space. I've usually used my car as an end to tie a tarp which is 12 x 20 and that seems to always be ok with my neighbors. We've brought a shade canopy and 2 tents which are all under the 12 x 20 tarp
To add on to this, do you always have the room to orient your tent east-west? That seems to be at the tops of everyone's list on how to stay cool.
Most tents are square, so you can turn them any direction you like. If you have a rectangular tent, you might not have a choice which way you set it up. Claim space quickly, but don't be a jerk about it either.
