Anyone ever use a telescoping windsock pole as a flagpole? I've been thinking about buying one, they aren't very expensive and seem easy to use, plus they are telescoping which would make it easier to travel with and pack.
No exp with those. Here is the one I bought for around $30: www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=149592. You can also use an inexpensive "Brim Buster" telescoping fishing pole, about $10 at WM and tackle stores. The one I have is 13' and prob OK for a small flag. HTH

I'm using a telescoping tree limb trimmer that's currently gathering dust in my garage. Take out two screws to remove the blade and it's a perfect, heavy duty flagpole.

That looks pretty good, how heavy is it?
UPS is bringing it today - I'll let you know tonight.

This is the one I got a few weeks ago and it is awesome samething just has the stand so you drive your tire on it and dont have to worry about putting it in the ground!
Got the 20' today, weighs about 2 lbs (nice and light) and is 47" long packed. Nice. Way better than my old bream buster flag pole. I'm going to mount mine to my EzUp off the ground some way - still designing a tamper-proof mount to fab up for that. Now to find a boating-type PFD survival strobe to put up top; they use 1 D cell and flash for days, so I can find camp when I really need it.
