Friends,
This will be my fourth roo and my first one sober from alcohol.
I would love to hear sober roo stories from years past, just get some digital support from inforoo peops, or learn details about an actual sober camp that I could visit for a possible informal meeting while I am at the roo.
Glad your a friend of Bill W., not my think but more power to you... I think bonnaroo would be a great even to go to sober because, unlike a club, you really set your own environment, There really isn't a bar and most people wont have a drink in their hand. I think you should start up a meeting if you want too... My mom was a Al-Anon member for years and use to drag me to Al-A-teen meetings. I know they can be really helpful to some people

Congrats on your sobriety.
But............I'm fairly certain one of the rules to fighting any addiction is to stay away from places that remind you of said addiction in order to reduce your odds of a relapse? So if you were sloshed for three Bonnaroo's, why in the world would you attempt it "sober" when you're familiar with being there drunk?
Not trying to pick a fight, but having seen people defeated by addiction, I wouldn't risk it if your sobriety means anything to you.

Thanks for pointing me to the other thread. Roo has always been about WAY MORE than the party to me and since I am in charge of a team of 15 volunteers, skipping is not an option. All best, all props, so amazed that it is so soon.
