I was just watching my local news channel (9) and they mentioned that a Bonnaroo act would be playing the Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, Tn following the B-52's performance next Thursday. Obviously, I will be at the Roo, but I'm still interested in knowing who it is. They said it was a "big act." Whoever it is is playing the TVA stage, which is somewhere between the size of This/That tent. I caught the Machine and Al DiMeola there last year. Would anyone care to take a stab as to who this might be?
well looking at it half the lineup is open that day. as far as big names, al green, allen toussaint, amadou & mariam, andrew bird, ani difranco, animal collective, beastie boys, ben harper, booker t, david byrne, decemberists, del mccoury, erykah badu, govt. mule, mars volta. moe., public enemy, santigold, snoop, yeah yeah yeahs and wilco are possibilities. bruce, phish and nin are also off but i don't think that's happening.

Rumors are flying all over the city this morning that it is in fact Phish that will be playing as a warm-up show for Bonnaroo. I more inclined to believe this since they are playing Knoxville tonight and Chatt is pretty much right between Knox and Manchester. If this is the case Riverbend will turn in to an absolute clusterf*ck tomorrow night.

Finally found an article. Just a side note, but apparently Page McConnell has family that lives in Chatt.
From the Chattanoogan 6-4-09
However, one topic that Riverbend officials are keeping a closely guarded secret for the moment is the identity (ies) of a special guest (s) will be performing next Thursday night on the TVA stage at approximately 11 p.m. immediately following the conclusion of the B-52s appearance on the Coca-Cola Stage.
Officials were clearly excited about the mystery artist(s) saying that it would be unlike anything that has ever been seen in Chattanooga. Early speculation is that the performer(s) would be appearing at next weekend’s Bonnaroo festival in nearby Manchester, but officials weren’t giving any hints.
