yep that was me! thank god I bought that book at walmart before we came in, made the wait a little bit easier, heh.
Damn I knew I shoulda went over.
it's okay! there's always next year. My whole weekend was pretty topsy turvy planing/logistics wise, so I didn't get to meet nearly anyone that I wanted to. I learned a lot though and I'm hoping to improve on that in 2010
I was in Pod 1 as well and was so happy to have the taxi service. On Thursday I walked the gf back in the miserable rain about 9:30, hopped a taxi back to Centeroo for Zac Brown Band, Delta Spirit and Tobacco and then hopped a taxi back to camp.
Caught a taxi about 3:30 on Friday before they shut down for the night. With all of the zombies in the roads the trip was about the same time as if I walked it but my feet felt so much better!
I missed them Saturday but we didn't leave moe. till after five and were out of luck -- what are you gonna do?
The taxi drivers I had were great and each of them were just in it for the money. It was weird, you'd think that they were gonna catch some shows but they all said that they might catch a few minutes of Phish but that they were mainly focusing on banking as much as possible. I doubt that they got tipped very frequently, though -- I was the only one to tip each time I rode and we had full loads.
I used the taxi for the first time this year. Paid 10 bucks to haul me and my gear to the general tent only area. Money well spent if you ask me. I was talking to the taxi driver guy and he was saying Bonnaroo hires their company out. They do other fests too like Rothbury and others. The taxi driver was great. He watched the remainder of my stuff while I hauled half of it to tent only. Just wish they would take you where you wanted them to instead of them sticking to their routes.
i was out in pod 1 too. never used a taxi, but they got really tempting at times. i was really happy though when they opened the other entrance by the main stage. cut about 10 or 20 minutes off of my walk.
