I want to leave on Wed night and get there early on Thursday morning so I can get a close camping spot. I've heard some people say that if you are one of the firsts to get there, that they put you far, far, away from centeroo. That doesn't make any sense to me. Seems like you would be close to centeroo if you arrive right when they open. Is someone trying to trick me? I just want a good spot.

No one's trying to trick you.
It's all a crapshoot where they park you. You have a better chance if you get there after they tell you to arrive. If you get there before, you're pretty much guaranteed to get a spot in BFE.

Yeah we are getting there after a party right beside the Bonnaroo farm on that Wednesday so we are going to get there after the house party. We know we will be in BFE but it does not matter since we are handtrucking everything to camp only to be close to the action. So yeah we should have very minimal waiting even though the truck will be far out.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

I've pretty much always gotten there at about 3 am Fri morning and we've had spots all over the grounds. Last few years there was no traffic at all, last year we didn't hit the brakes till we got our CD and wristbands! They got it figured out. First year was pure insanity, especially leaving. Can't say I miss that logjam on the way out, though the first year everyone was so blown away that it was a blast. 14 hours to remember for sure, we still talk about it. 14 hrs to leave, then another 14 to get back to Jersey, that was a lil much.
you can always park for an hour where they put you, then wait till they're parking another vector and just cruise to a closer spot. But really, even if your 15 minute walk to centeroo it's not that bad.
