i wanna remove mine without messing it up. i read somewhere about using a flathead screw driver to pop the lock out but couldnt get it to work. anybody had any luck yet? thanks!
take that black thing and squeeze it in a vice. than rotate 90 degreese and squeeze it again. it should pop apart without much work and without damaging the fabric at all. I did that with the same type of wrist band from another fest but plan on keeping this one on for a while
Scissors. That's the way I always remove mine (plastic and/or woven), cut it at the black clip. I kind of like the way it looks with it's little double tail.
I just squeezed it over my wrist. Felt sorry for that one guy stumbling around yelling about how his hand hurt. I looked at it & they had put his band on so tight that his wrist was a little swollen.

I got mine off by taking a little serrated knife and sawing through the outer layer of plastic. Then you can peel off the outer cylinder and take out the spikes without cutting/tearing the ribbon. You only need to cut the first layer of black plastic, then have a friend take it off (impossible to do with only one hand.)

last years band, last years lolla band, this years summercamp band, and this roo band....all taken off....i just worked at the black lock...holding it in one hand and rolling my other to pull one side, then roll the other way to pull the other side. eventualy after about 15 min of working them they get loose enough to work off. it may not seem like its pulling out but keep working it and eventualy it will start to slowly come. and when sliding off you will have to work it. once you get it past your thumb nuckle your smoothe sailing.
although i prob shouldnt have mentioned this for tylers sake

Mine is still on but I was curious so I tried to get it off and it definitely fits over my hand. And I stupidly tightened mine up a little after they put it on, so if I can get mine off then I would imagine a lot of people should be able to. Just get it wet so it expands as much as possible and start tugging! I was able to tug mine up until it was at the widest part of my hand, so I know it can come off, but once I got it there I just pulled it back onto my wrist because I want to leave it on for now.
I was able to slide mine over my wrist. I took it off when I stopped for breakfast on the drive home and the tails were dragging in my food. The thought of all the portopotties that wristband visited lead to a quick decision to remove it immediately.
I got mine of by slicing the plastic retainer in half with a pocket knife this year. Last year I used a pair of dikes to cut the retainer in half and get it off.

The mechanism that holds the bracelet on is basically a black plastic tube with two tiny steel plates inside of it. Each plate has a serrated tooth that faces the other on either side of the cloth band. The tooth is slanted and pointed towards the ends of the cloth wristband so it may be slid to tighten but not to loosen. Get a pair of wirecutters, scissors or even fingernail clippers and start cutting at the edge of the plastic tube. Continue cutting through the tube until the little metal plates fall out. You may have to cut through the entire length of the black plastic tube. Do this carefully so the serrated metal teeth do not rip the fabric of the wristband.
I frame my wristband along with my ticket and lineup poster.
