John Mayer would be cool. He is a badass guitar player and his pop stuff is a guilty pleasure. I saw him sit-in with Galactic in New Orleans and he absolutely lit the place on fire. If Robbie McIntosh is still playing with him, that's bonus guitar greatness.
Makes me wonder. He's booked for PinkPop over in the Netherlands Memorial Day weekend. I'm thinking that he's doing eurofests this summer. But as of right now it's doable. www.pinkpop.nl/page.php?pagID=509
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
Eh? Its only a 10 minute bus ride from the station. You'll survive (more than likely).
Are you new here? Nothing on marta is a quick 10 minutes
Also I live in the NW suburbs, where we've luckily managed to not allow marta. There are Cobb County buses, but with all that trouble....I'd rather just drive. Unless I stay down town....
Sorry, I'm done taking over the roo thread to talk about possible phish dates.
We now return to your regularly scheduled programming

Is REM coming out with a new album or touring? Just wondering, but I do think they could fill the modern headliner. They're still making decent music I guess if the next one is good, Accelerate was pretty good.

From their website
The band spent the past three weeks at the Music Shed in New Orleans working on songs for their next record with Jacknife Lee. Michael provided glimpses of the new material in a handful of movies he shot with his iPhone. Check all five of them out at the REMHQ YouTube Channel, and expect more studio news and action from the band at some point in the new year when they will resume working on the new album.
^I heard the same rumblings about the Beasties and Byrne last year. However, if Roo got REM, I do doubt that they would maintain last year's Friday evening format.

There is no way that Arcade Fire or String Cheese Incident will headline, they simply aren't big enough. I think we may see another two nights of jam bands this year. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see

Hmm maybe my Coldplay prediction will pan out.
Also no way there will be a Saturday Jam Headliner. Just leave it at Sunday. Phish was special, there's no proof that there will be two big jam shows. Especially when the pool is so small (Phish, Dead, Widespread.)
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

Michael Franti on an NPR interview today said he'd be touring with John Mayer in 2010.

There has been alot of chatter on alot of bands. There just has been no new news from the Stones camp for us to discuss. Right now there as likely as any other Saturday possibilities. The only thing that we know about Saturday night is that Clapton and U2 will not be there. The remaining possibilities for Saturday are...
Rolling Stones McCartney The Who Neil Young Roger Waters Phish

My Morning Jacket's headlining Sunday night. REM is a possible Friday night headliner, as well as Kings of Leon. There's also a rumor that Thom Yorke Band will be doing a main stage late night and that Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining Saturday. Other acts this year are said to include Arcade Fire, Pavement, Bright Eyes, and Man Man. Discuss amongst yourselves.
