most listed would be fresh blood. Mabey not for you but for Bonnaroo. The Who, Bjork, Cake, the Shins, Method and Redman, Explosions in The Sky are all yet to play.
I dont know if The Who are worse than Dylan these days... and plenty seemed to like his show at Roth...
To Me The Dead are the ones who = awful. esp after seeing phish 4 times this summer.

from that list id love to see: The Who Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young The Dead Bjork The Prodigy Tom Waits Cake Ryan Adams The Roots The Shins Fatboy Slim Method Man and Redman Black Star STS9 Particle Spoon Explosions in the Sky Robert Randolph & the Family Band John Butler Trio The Dandy Warhols Saul Williams Ozomatli Perpetual Groove
Somehow I missed Black Star. Ok 2. Fair enough about that list. There are alot of bands that have yet to play Bonnaroo but there are better names to come up with.
EDIT: And I've seen both. Even an off Dylan set is a million times better than The Who.

-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
saturday realllly needs to be some form of pink floyd. gilmour or waters. i'd prefer gilmour but i'd take either. floyd is waaaaay overdue at the farm.
sunday will probably be The Dead if they are still touring next year. Jay-Z or Prince would be great for the 4th headliner/ mainstage late night act.
so yeah my picks for 2010 would be David Gilmour . Rush . The Dead . Prince
one thing i think everyone can agree on is how unpredictable bonnaroo would be. putting rush before prince on a lineup wouldnt surprise me, but looking over my last post... yeah seems a bit off
i just think prince would work better as a late night main stage act than say.... Rush

Anybody interested in bands playing that are currently making music? There are so many artists mentioned who seem to have peaked twenty or thirty years ago. I'm all for celebrating our history but let's keep an eye forward as well.

If the headliners next year were all "modern" bands there would be so much complaining. Look what happened to Jack Johnson. He is easily big enough to headline a night but so many people complained he was replaced.

Well the understatement of the day following the above post is I would attend that festival. Oh and the pictures convinced me And on my wish list I would rank Prince above Rush sorry Airline.

The thing with headliners is by the time they are big enough to headline they are not in their prime.
My feeling is that they don't necessarily have to be in their prime but at least still be relevant. There are plenty of established artists, some of whom have been mentioned, who are still performing music, writing music, maintaining their buzz, etc. who are not on the casino nostalgia circuit. Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band, even Metallica, Pearl Jam and Springsteen still are undisputable arena draws who are recording music that is on year-end lists and awards shows.
I'm not saying that there isn't a place for buzz reunions and touring mainstays but I'd still like Roo keeping an eye on the present and future, ya know?
I don't know if they'll be holding down what stage but i expect to see a bit of metal pretty high on the list again this year. Metallica and Mastodon pulled it off in 08 and nin lead a strong lineup of heavy music again this year. They've had some good selections which has lead to a pretty good response so i bet it'll keep up.
Daft, White Stripes, Rush-where have these guys been anyway? They still turing?
Daft Punk hasn't been touring since 2007 at the end of the Pyramid tour I believe. White Stripes haven't toured since Meg's anxiety attack forced the group to cancel a bunch of shows in the Fall of 2007. I have no idea about Rush.
