This situation really sucked. I have to admit I was one of the first campers to set up in an area that was cordoned off but this is my third Roo and those areas (I thought) were always just to help organize where and when people set up in tent only. Every year those sections are there but after I set up camp within a couple of hours they are full of campers.
So we set up there and so did a ton of other people. We literally were set up for over three hours and relaxing and having some beers and then horse cops come in on both sides of our section and tell everyone they have to move because this is an emergency path. Not once did anyone come by and tell us we could not camp there and about 200-300 people were set up there and had to move. By that time there was no space nearly for our stuff but thankfully fellow campers helped us move our stuff about 300 yards to the next camping section so we didn't have to break down everything again. This really sucked and I thought this would set the tone for this Roo but where we camped turned out excellent and I had a great rest of the weekend. Curious if anyone else was in this section. And SHAME on Bonnaroo for letting this happen. Put a fucking sign up or something if you can't camp there!
Were you part of the group that set up in the middle of 4th Ave???
Some idiot in a Mickey Mouse tank top came by after we set up on the edge the road (4th) in Camp Thunderlips and tore down the stakes/string that sectioned the road off from the camping area. Then all of these people came and set up camp where the road used to be! We told several people that it was a road, and they would most likely have to move, but they just shrugged and went on setting up anyway.
Just shows how the stupidity of one person can cause a headache for everyone else.
Ya should have used better judgment but everyone else was camping there and I have seen the same thing in previous years with no problem. Oh well just a temporary issue and I had one of the best weekend's of my life.
