Was my first time at the amazing roo and it seemed to be packed with wonderful people. However, I read somewhere that there was only 75,000 people? Not sure if that's a true number since I never heard of official numbers but in case it hasn't been asked before, does anyone know how many rooers there were this year?

yeah, there was a press release from AP that said they estimated 60-65K i think...but there was definitely way more people than that, seemed pretty crowded to me, definitely much more so than last year.

I heard 75 too but that was just from someone else on the boards. I'm kinda surprised - firstly we've never actually seen numbers in the past so if someone official released a number that's surprising in itself. Secondly I would have guessed higher than that, based on the estimates we've seen for previous years and the fact that this year seemed, if anything, more crowded. I would have thought more like 85.
roofan said they were not planning on opening rear BFE at all this year but had to due to last minute ticket sales. If that is true I would tack 15 thousand onto that 65 and call it 80 easy. For sure a lot more than last year, and I think more than in 07. 06 actually "sold out" and had about 85, the crowd size felt a lot more like that than in the years past to me.

That would explain the complaints about there not being any nearby water stations in that BFE.
Anybody notice that a lot of VIP looked vacant this year? I hope that means that they'll trim it a bit next year -- that will make it easier for those of us in the other BFE that have to walk around it to get to Centeroo.

I noticed that also. VIP looked empty in the back.

I had some friends in VIP that told me that they had 2 1/2 spaces for 2 people. That may have had something to do with the price hike + the extra 100 you had to pay just for the not so good food. It'll be interesting to see what happens with VIP next year.

When we were driving in off of exit 127 and being parked in BFE, they were cutting down the fence to park more people farther back than we were. Man that was a long walk and the grass was so tall. Everytime we went back to the car for something, I kept closing grass in the door of my suv that sits a fair distance off of the ground. Then they opened up the area on the other side of Bushy Branch and parked peeps out there as well.

Local estimates have put this years attendance at about 79k. They almost hit 80, but not quite. From what I understand this was WELL above their expectations. I heard that the day before and the day of tickets sales were through the roof!
I know my mom decided to go at the last minute, but soon enough to have a ticket shipped to her. Barely, though. It seemed like a lot of people did the same thing.
VIP did seem light this year. Lines were down and there was plenty of space. When we were driving in from VIP check in at the high school around 3PM we passed a store front that said "Official Bonnaroo Tickets" and the line was out the door. No idea if it was related to Superfly or just locals.
