There has been a lot of chatter about Daft Punk at Roo. While it doesn't seem to be based on any actual info other than their slots at Lollapalooza and Coachella and the fact that they haven't played Bonnaroo yet, what do you think of their placement potential?

I voted Which Stage late night just because I don't believe that they will move the headliner around to accommodate DP's stage set up. They would be perfect for the Lips/NIN slot. But I wouldn't want to see them at Bonnaroo if they were given the #1 or #2 slot because I expect bigger headliners than that.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
Well... I'd really hope that Bonnaroo has the common sense to give them the What Stage late night. They were billed second on the 2007 Lollapalooza lineup, and they certainly haven't gotten any smaller since then. I'd say that Daft Punk is roughly on a par with Nine Inch Nails in terms of popularity; however, Daft Punk seems to have a wider appeal, whereas Nine Inch Nails has a more devout fanbase. Sure, Nine Inch Nails played on the Which Stage, but it was so overcrowded there that I'd rather not have to go through that sardine experience again. Another factor is that the visuals are an extremely important element of Daft Punk's live performance, and I think the overall experience would suffer a lot if there were no screens.

It should be noted that they were coheadling that night with Ben Harper who has never headlined Roo and who this year was relegated to late night in The Other Tent while Nine Inch Nails played the Which Stage.

Bigger than Daft Punk? I dunno man, Daft Punk is HUGE.
What are you talking about? The co headliners have no bearing on each other. It's just a matter of 1 vs 6, 2 vs 5, and 3 vs 4.
This year is:
Kings of Leon vs Depeche Mode Beastie Boys vs Tool Janes Addiction vs Killers
I'd say that they're fairly evenly matched, KOL vs DM possibly being the exception.
Either way, most headliners do not play unopposed at Lolla, which takes some of the weight away from the "headliner" status in my mind. (This years headliners are also up against Crookers/KiD CuDi, Bassnectar and Deadmau5, respectively.)
i voted what stage late night. i dont trust the sound quality of the which stage for a show as big as daft punk.
I dunno, I thought the sound quality for NIN was really good. Im sure if they played late night on Which Stage the sound would be fine. That being said I voted late night What Stage. If they have a stage set up like the Pyramid I would think that would be pretty cramped on the Which Stage.
Daft could only play a late night which stage if they played against competition such as moe., MGMT, and Ben Harper like NIN did. If not they could have a Phish type late main stage slot after co headliners like Byrne/Beasties this year.
