How many manchester and surrounding town residents actually attend the fest?? I remember stopping at the waffle hut a few towns up the road on 55 and the waitresses were sort of hostile about 'roovians visiting their fine establishment. Do the locals hate us??

The local paper after last year's Bonnaroo was somewhat negative. I can't recall exactly what was said, just that it had that vaugely negative tone that reporters (and I used to be one, so I know it well) use to cast dispersion on something without being 'overtly' biased.
They seemed to focus a lot on the drugs and misbehavior aspect, but did concede that it had, over-all, been fairly okay.
All the locals I ran into (you know, a whole one or two) didn't seem too put out by the whole thing.
just be kind to the natives and don't act a fool. I know...easier said then done!!!!
Just to be clear-- me and my buds are old men, and at the waffle house we were polite, quiet and well behaved--- our wristbands from the show gave us away.

i'm not sure how many attend... the locals don't dislike roovians, they've just got the small town attitude ( not all of them , but some). ' you ain't from 'round here are ya boy?' just put on a smile, be polite, and all will be good.
Last year, we had the pleasure of meeting a couple of good old boys who lived in an adjacent property and wandered in to see what the fuss was about. We shared some beers and laughs with them. They were skeptical when they first came in, but were feeling the love by the time they left us, I think.

Yeah, I"ll all about "leave no trace." Picking up trash takes just a few minutes and is an easy way to be a respectful guest who hopefully is welcomed again in the future.
Just a quick note on cleaning up after yourselves when Bonnaroo is over. It only takes a few minutes to completely clean your campsite and any trash around your neighbor’s campsite of all trash and cigarette butts. Please remember to pick up all your butts when you leave and try not to put them out on the ground when you’re walking around. Just squeeze the head off and put them in your pocket until you pass a trash can. My wife, daughter and I attended Strange Creek music fest in New England over Mem. Day weekend and helped out cleaning up after everyone left. The cigarette butts were the hardest, thousands of them so just keep them in your pocket; it’s good for mother earth. Bill T.
