Mike Gordon Fall 2009 Tour
Mike Gordon and his band will embark on a 20-plus date Fall Tour beginning just after Labor Day in Brooklyn, NY and winding down at the beginning of October in Burlington, VT.
A limited number of tickets are available via a fan presale NOW at mikegordontickets.rlc.net. The presale ends Thursday, July 23 at 5 p.m. EST, at which point tickets will go on sale through traditional outlets.

I'm going to the show in Jacksonville, but yeah I don't know what the band is like either. Any idea who's even in the band with him?
I'm pretty sure Scott Murawski's gonna be playing guitar in the band. He's a very solid guitarist and can hold his own vocally as well. I caught his band, Max Creek, at Gathering of the Vibes a couple of weeks ago and they put on a rockin' show.

One of my favs from a Corner in the Doniac:
There are two people: John Efi and John Efi. If there were one person, then why does John stand over his own shoulder, watching the other thresh pemmican like barley? Confounded as a hart in gaze by estuary edge, the upper Efi retreats.
"How is the cathedral of wisdom today?" lashes Efi, the sitter. They redichotomize.
"It's your disparaging remarks that fertilize my enmity."
"You're rough-legged."
"You're an ass."
"You're black-throated."
Reconvening by the buckboard, the Efis refute any hegemony. Though discourse is far from eleemosynary, its whirring fades and falls by the penumbra of the buckboard. John cognits a final comment to be a feint in the context of his own ahimsa, and the donkey scuffles at the squawking of a grouse.
"John," says Efi, looking into the eyes of his now physically separated clone, "you're a conch."

Saw them Friday night, and it was a whole lot of fun. I definitely recommend seeing these guys if they're in town (actually I drove an hour and a half).
By chance, I met Mike a couple of hours before the show in a tacky beachside souvenir shop. He was really nice despite my fanboyishness.
