hopefully they keep coming east after san antonio.

Yes, please. We've been trying to get back to see TMV since their 2005 Roo set. We've had tickets to three different shows since then, but we haven't made it to any of them for various reasons.

i've had that happen with incubus. we have missed them the last 3 tours, 2 of which we had tickets for and had to sell them. not that big of a deal to me, since i have seen them 3 times before, but my wife has never seen them. we are finally seeing them in a couple weeks.
6/18: Phish in Hartford 6/25: Phish in Camden 7/2-7/4: Nateva 7/17: God Street Wine at Irving Plaza 7/23-7/25: String Cheese at Red Rocks!! 8/17-8/18: Phish at Jones Beach 9/3: Rush at PNC
This Bonnaroo lineup is in dire need of some Rush.

i have walked out twice on TMV shows. one was an actual show of theirs in austin. the stage show was good, and omar is a great performer, but they always end up sounding like a garbled mess of notes to me. i believe it was jambase who awarded them the most surprisingly bad show of the festie season last year based on their ACL set. i walked out early on that one, too.

really? you don't say? well here's a post frm a thraed you started on infobury>
"it was great! they played for damn near 3 hours without any kind of break...i think i was more tired than they were! they did more jamming than just going through and playing songs, which i really enjoyed. omar tore it UP on the guitar "
STRANGE, huh? so, what? you forgot to mention they sucked and that you walked out! i'm a little confused! are you "hurling" lies at us or infobury?

yeah, i was also stoned as hell and drunk. i left before the show ended and hung around outside with some friends who also felt the way i did. someone else drove us there, so i had to wait on him and he wanted to stay.
(edit) and now i understand why you opted outta the "crunchy/headie" thing! i'm sure by this point youd have me look like a puppy dressedd up like santa clause! CLASSY!
LMFAO! i think it is absoltly hilarious that some of the haters around here dont understand that if being custied bothered me in the slightest i'd turn crunchy/custy option off so that they coul'nt do it anymore! but no they just keep on doing it cause what else do they got! i'm not sure if it's more funny for me or more sad for them! either wayy keep up tha good work simpletons! i take it as a compliment!
whats even more funny is that i'll without question get custied for this post! LOL!!!!!!
^ rather than saying you walked out on two Volta shows making it seem like they were under par...why didnt you say that you were " stoned as hell and drunk"... and needed to step outside..rather than being a bit on the newb side for not knowing your limits... theres nothing wrong with having to step out and get fesh air.
TMV is unique and unlike any other band i listen to. to be honest im not even a huge fan but respect the music they create unconditionally. I was about twenty ft from the stage at Roo and about thiry min. into their show i just felt this "force" basically pulling me to the Decemberists. Its not that TMV wasnt putting on a sick show...its just something i felt i had to do.

i said OMAR tore it up, and i have regularly given him props for his talent. as a whole, i think the band is sub-par live. i left because it didn't sound good to me. i wasn't effed up at ACL and i walked out on that set very quickly.
you don't have to agree with me. i hope you get to see them and enjoy them. the beauty of music is that whole opinion thing
I didn't get to see the entire TMV set but what I did see/hear was not very impressive. I think I had really high expectations though. Also, I think a lot of it had to do with whatever noise was bleeding through from that damn beer tent at the back. I don't think I'll ever get over that damn beer tent. Maybe they should make it a Silent Beer Tent
I'd like to give them another shot, live that is. I love the albums. Maybe it just didn't translate as well for me live.

btw, your posts do nothing but amuse me.
well....you said it was great, tho....right? i never been so stoned that i lthought a bad concert wsa "great"....or forgotten that i walke out. also accordin to your original post no infobury.....you were talkin bout the show you saw the night before! man that is fucked up! glad i amused you but i'm not goin to argue with you anymore.....YOUR WORDS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES! and they are hilarious!
if you want to custie me somemore i'll turn it back on just for you! have fun! i know i did!
Mars Volta Fall tour... hopefully more dates later on, some in the Southeast because I (for one) LOVE this band and would like to see them at every possible opportunity.

thanks for getting it back on track. i don't know why someone would want to post about not liking the band in a thread about tour dates? i mean, i can see in just a general thread about a band. but in a thread where fans of that band are discussing a tour? why would you do that unless you're looking for an argument?

Southeast for sure! I missed them at 'Roo in sacrifice for the Decemberists and I would really like to make up for that. Plus, after two canceled shows in Atlanta I think they owe it to us.
^ when did they cancel twice in ATL?? What is with them...I have friends who live in Nashville who drove to Ohio ( Columbus i think ) 3 times! to c them. They canceled twice cause Omar was "sick"... wtf
But i hope there are shows added to the tour. I have never seen them outside roo and i would like to

sangreal...i was in no way looking for an argument. in fact, i said some positive things about the band. sorry for sharing my opinion on a message board, but i hope you have a blast

Does it strike anyone else as super creepy that this guy went and dug up a dead thread from another board just to simply discredit hippie on how she may or may not felt about a band a year ago versuses today?
salamander, you seem to be a very resourceful person, it's a shame that you seem to only come around to pick fights with others. I bet if you could get that chip off your shoulder you could be a great person to have around.
just chillax dude, we're at inforoo which is as close as it gets to bonnaroo, positive vibes friend.

they cancelled in atlanta because the tabernacle was damaged by a tornado. they came back later. i don't remember another time that they cancelled.
Last year they canceled an ATL show, the one before the Myrlte Beach show, at the last minute... not sure why. Sure someone was "under the weather".
Yeah, they're full of bs when it comes to that type of thing... I still can't believe the shit you guys up in Ohio went through last year with the constant cancellations.

petty arguments about stupid things that don't REALLY matter anymore aside......
i'd like to catch a volta show when their on tour. I've only seen them at roo and would like to check out one of their normal shows. too bad I don't see many east coast dates there. i'm sure they'll add some more eventually.

i've seen 4 volta shows and all but 1 were fuckin fantastic! 2 were at roo....an while both were great, i still think 05 was prolly beter! i dunno......maybe it was just rawer or sumthin! but, ya! both were pretty damn schweet! 1 was at the fillmore.....and GOD AND MAN JESUS! itwas prolly one of my top 4 or 5 shows ever! and 1 was when they opened for soad and....eh! i don't know if it was them....or the mix (which kinda sucked)....or that they were competing with serge and co but.....eh! my freind october has always said that some bands just dont work has openrs.....and, while that wasw my first tmv show (and it kinda bummed me out atfer all tha hype), i beleive that they are one of those bands! they gotta have the time to really strech there legs and do there thing if you really want to get a true feelin of what they do! like em or not, if you know anything bout music or art or talent.....you cant ever ssay that they are anywhere near a "subpar" band!

anyone else see them at rams head last september...i shouldn't type this for there is no point but....after paying 40+ticketmaster charges and for them to play less than an hour...if you're the only band on the bill and charge 40 bucks i'm sorry but you have to give more than 45 mins...plus after 20 minutes of uninspired drumming i had a headache! on the plus side we got lost in bmore and found SCORES and had a wonderful night watching some naked ladies come down a 3 story stipper pole but i was expecting the mars volta to be a little more fun than a strip club...what a letdown

^had heard great things...i'll probably give them another shot eventually. i ended up having a great night anyways so i guess it wasn't all bad...plus there was some annoying couple like pushing me until i finally turned around and gave them a nice get the hell off me shout and shove... crowd might've been to blame too because the band left the show without saying anything...just not what i expected for the amount of money. and now that i think of it he did say something negative about the smell of pot so maybe that pissed him off idk

every tmv show i've been to has ben at least 2 hours!...but yeah....both cedric and omar are prety tempermental! they do tend to get pissy rather quickly sometimes (from what ive haerd)! sorry youre expereince sucked so bad! give em another chance if ya getta chance!
