Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones, Foo Fighters/Nirvana's Dave Grohl & QOTSA's Josh Homme Team Up for Supergroup - Them Crooked Vultures
It's all very vague at this point and we don't have much to run with, but upon seeing this story on Pitchfork, we looked further, and it appears that John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters/Nirvana) and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) have formed a supergroup and they call themselves Them Crooked Vultures.
If one heads over to myspace.com/crookedvultures you can clearly see Band Members listed as: Dave Grohl, Joshua Homme, John Paul Jones. And there's even this website: themcrookedvultures.com which at this point just brings you back to the MySpace site.
There's also this Lollapalooza late night gig listed at the Metro on Sunday, August 9 with a graphic featuring the logos for Zep, Foo Fighters and QOTSA.

I could see a late night or which stage set. Definitely not a headliner.....but I could see this happening on the farm. Maybe Foo Fighters will get a spot and Grohl can do double duty.
If they really wanna top last year they need to book this supergroup, QOTSA, Foo Fighters, Plant and Krauss, and Black Crowes with Jimmy Page and just release those names in December and those tickets would be gone in days for reasons that don't really include Them Crooked Vultures.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
mmmmmm.......dont know much about the qotsa but hear good things. grohl jpj and anybody doing any nirvana song would be the worth of ticket. seeing grohl play drums is pretty close to to the top of my musical wishlist.

King, can you just edit your 2009 thing to only include Pearl Jam? The other three are hurting my eyes when I look at them.
Heard great things about TCV. It's also great to see Grohl back on drums, I like him better behind the kit. Also, it's cool to see JPJ not fading into the distance.
I got to see this show! It really was as good as it looks on paper. The show was oversold though. I feel bad for the people who got listen but couldn't even get in the main room where they were playing.

see you in boston..........grohl on drums and jpj on bass................mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I'll be there... hopefully. If I can get tickets and they're not outrageously priced. I can't believe they're playing the House of Blues. That place holds, what, like 2,000 people? I would have thought that they'd be at the Agganis Arena at the very least (about 7,500 seats for you non-Bostonians).
I want to see some supergroup action on the farm next year - Them Crooked Vultures, The Dead Weather, or Monsters of Folk - any of those would be fine by me, but we better be getting at least one of them!
So are they recording a CD? I'm curious what they're playing at their shows... original tunes? (sorry if the vids would tell me, I can't access them at work)

just heard about this. sounds like a bonnaroo superjam. i'll also go ahead and call it that the foo fighters will be friday night's headliner next year, although i don't approve.
just heard the album. sounds amazing. and with the lineup of musicians in this group u know that they would have a great setlist for any festival show.
