The WWII Memorial is finally complete. 16,000,000 Americans participated in WWII and only 4,400,000 are alive today. My grandfather was one of those who fought (and was actually wounded several times), but unforunately passed away on New Years Eve, 1999. Join with me in taking a moment to remember the sacrifices made by my grandfather and the 15,999,999 other brave Americans who served in this devastating chapter in world history.
He would have been so happy to see this day...
Give me a TTT for him and the others who didn't live to see this day.

My dad died in 1995. He was a Marine attached to OSS in WWII. Semper Fidelis/TTT.
The wife suggested this morning that we go give blood at the Red Cross, and we just got back. A highly recommended Memorial Day weekend activity. I got a cool hat that I'll be wearing at Bonnaroo.

I'd love to go give blood this weekend, but I lived in England (late 80s) when they were having their Mad Cow epidemic so I am forever banned from donating blood anywhere.
