A work conflict came up after I had bought tickets.Maybe next year I'll make it.The site looks fantastic.
$200 for mainstage camping and full event pass if you know anyone who's looking to go. I'm going to Fayetteville tonight.Maybe I'll find someone there.

I was planning on getting WET for this event ,but unfortunately I don't have funds and all the people I was going with Leno'ed out. Everyone have a great time and rage extra hard at Lotus and Panic for me and all the cats that aren't making it from Boone/Outer Banks, NC!
....oh, and I say Lotus!!! Their live show will change you!

Oh, I LOVE Dirtfoot! But putting them against a Lotus latenight is a sin. Dirtfoot will be playing the next day, as well as at the Chompdown. While the latenight will be the best of them, I wouldn't be able to justify 3 Dirtfoot shows and miss that crazy Lotus latenight.
All good points. For me it's easier to miss Lotus than Railroad Earth though. Plus I think we're camping up front at mainstage all day on Saturday for Umphrey's/STS9 craziness. Ohhhhh so pumped!
My friends are in the band Earphunk, they are gonna be on the Backwoods stage on Saturday starting at 9:15. They are starting a little bit before Widespread. If you get a chance to check them out for a little bit, I suggest you do. They play some good New Orleans style funk, stuff that'll really get you moving. Show some love, even if just for a little bit.
I will unfortunately not be able to make this fest. The lineup is sick, so I'm kinda bummed about it. It's ok though, I'll be in France during this

It's official. I'm going and we are gonna rage the gauge like nicholas cage. But I need an extra mainstage camping pass, now because I have more people in tow. Waka is gonna be sick.

So closeeeeeeee.We're three hours away right now, in springfield, missouri. Three days till we'll be jammin to some sts9, bisco and umphreys! If anyone sees a silver honda fit with a shade canopy, orange tent, and a silver tarp thrown over the campsite, stop by and say hey!
Come by our camp if you see a two sided flag representing Atlanta Falcons on one side and Atlanta Braves on the other. Natty Ices will be flowing like water. Everyone have fun and be safe! WAKA WAKA
So much fun. I just got home and I am now beginning the energy re-collecting for Bonnaroo. I really can't describe the Wakarusa vibe, but I do know that it will bring me back to the Ozarks year after year. Didn't meet anyone who wasn't in high spirits, only friendly, talkative smiling folks. The addition of the Satellite Camping actually added an element to the festival where the entire mountain was overrun with Wakarusians.
The combination of music, people, and nature are what really make the festival special. We took a dip in the river down by Satellite Camping on Friday, and jumped off the waterfall on Saturday. I can't think of a better way to refresh yourself after raging all night than letting a cold river flow over you. Beautiful.
As far as sets go, highlights include:
Thursday: The Heavy Pets - Quickly becoming one of my favorites. First time seeing them and the energy was unbelievable. Railroad Earth - my favorite set I've seen of theirs, they were on fire from start to finish, and got into some really spacey, psychedelic jams towards the end. They also busted out The Machine's lasers for one jam. The crowd really loved that. The Machine - Wow. Just makes me wish I could've seen Pink Floyd that much more. I've seen the Australian Pink Floyd before but this was just on another level. They dipped deeper into the catalog than I could have ever imagined. They busted out a Set The Controls For The Heart Of Sun, and Leno got reaaaaal weird in that tent.
Friday: Mofro - Such a soulful, full voice. The drummer (can't remember his name) was really killing it. Railroad Earth - Just love them. More of a chilled-out set to accompany the beating sun, but everyone was getting down just the same. Umphrey's McGee - Love. They played Der Bluten Kat, which was a first for me, and the new song, Booth Love, which is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Bassnectar - Holy hell man. This set was so good it has me considering opting out of the Flips/Keys conflict altogether and just do Bassnectar again. The power of that bass is incredible. There's no chance you're standing still if he's on stage. Plus the tent was packed and overflowing which I never thought I'd see at Waka. EOTO - Finally got to see them, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. Watched some dude spin fire while listening to it, so that was pretty nice as well. Tea Leaf Green - Okay, so Reed Mathis is the TRUTH. This band has been sent to another level since he joined. They were absolutely ripping and really blew me away. I had seen them before in Athens and we actually left at set break because it was kind of meh. This set was FAR FROM MEH. Amazing.
Saturday: The Black Keys - Lived up to the hype I had built for them. As said before, the "Brothers" material was all played with a four piece and sounded just beautiful. My one complaint was that the sound was kind of low for their set and it conflicted with all the talk I've heard about how loud they are. Still absolutely rocked it and played just the right songs. When they came out and ripped into "Thickfreakness", it was on. Zappa Plays Zappa - Honestly my favorite set of the weekend. So damn funky. I can't recall a time where I've danced as hard. ;D Widespread Panic - My second WSP show, and this one was just great. It seemed like a culmination of our entire efforts to have fun and make the festival special with their set. I'm not typically the biggest fan, but this was definitely in my top five. Umphrey's McGee - Terrific set. It was an absolute heater from start to finish. It was special for me because they played even more songs I was chasing, it was my tenth show, and we were in the second row of a packed out tent.
