I know this type of music isn't particularly popular in these parts, but there are at least a couple more people on here who like this band. Anyway, their most recent tour (not in support of a new album, so it's a bunch of their back catalogue) just started last week;

I just bought tickets to Charlotte, yesterday. This will be my first (of hopefully many) Puppy show.
I'm so excited to finally get to see one of my all time favorite acts in concert! Also, if you end up going, stick around... depending on the venue's rules, the guys like to come out and mingle with the fans.

I've been meaning to check out this band for a while. I've located a source for Rabies and The Greater Wrong Of The Right, would you recommend these to get started?
Of those, I'd say Rabies... with Al Jourgensen production, it's not really what Puppy sounds like, but it's as close to rock as they ever got. They're both good, but neither is a really good example of what they're like.
I'd recommend to start with VIVIsectVI or Last Rights.
Well, Fuck... looks like they're canceling the Charlotte show. I guess I'll hope for a refund and an addional day off from work so I can go to the ATL show.
I dunno, I have to see what the hell's going on with this.

off topic, perhaps.
what kind of fish did he like? what was the tank full of little scuba guys and undersea wrecks with bubbles? or more of a "human skull and eels" motif?
the fish i started him off with were a pair of tomato clownfish, a dogface puffer, and a naso tang. i know that i added another fish, but i cannot recall for the life of me what kind it was. as far as decorations, there were a few artificial ones. the only one i remember was a pirate skull that krusty and his friend made their home. krusty was one of the tomato clownfish.
as for the rest of their house, it was a rather modest, but nice home. the walls were filled with tour posters from each of his tours. pink neon light signs like "nude" and "hell" also on the walls. furniture included plush, black velvet sofas with hot pink pillows. most of the decorating was done by angie, al's wife. she is also the one i mainly dealt with, but on occasion uncle al showed up.
Now, let me get the negative out of the way, because I have some things to say;
This was an obviously mishandled show, by the venue. I arrived a little late (like 8:30) and there was already a sense of negativity. The will call situation wasn't handled well, to my knowledge, and people were angry before the show even started, I even heard someone saying "I can understand why Puppy almost canceled this show... this is fucking bullshit." I heard more of it, too...
Which brings me to my other complaint; while 95% of the audience was great and chill and just wanted to see this awesome band, that other 5%... man. Some of the biggest assholes I've ever had the misfortune of being around at ANY concert I've ever been to. I understand that when you buy a Skinny Puppy ticket, you should be ready for some intense crowd action, which I was... but some of it was totally uncalled for. Some people that were either tripping nuts or drunk would keep pushing with the vocal intention of pissing people off so they'd leave and they could get their spots. I was next to such a couple. People all around were trying to mosh, and noone else wanted anything of it, and it just made for a bad mix. I saw punches of anger thrown, people being just outright rude, trying to get where they want to be in relation to the stage... some of the audience really made me disappointed.
Now to the good;
The show itself was amazing, Puppy was on, and it was my first time seeing them. I know for sure I'll not miss them again.
The people I was hanging with during the show were AWESOME. This chick next to me from Knoxville, in particular, was a blast to be around and chat with. Allot of you guys were really cool and down to Earth as well, you more than made up for the assholes that were there. Thank you!
The setlist was amazing. Highlights for me were Dogshit, Assimilate, Politikil, Ugli, and Morpheus Laughing (the energy from the crowd during this one was unreal). Though the technical aspect was condensed, I believe the band performed to near perfection. I didn't hear one person complain about the show itself, at all.
The day was an adventure for me; after the cancellation of Charlotte, I made the last minute decision to make it to this thing. I decided to leave Columbia around 3 in the afternoon, and right outside of Aiken, my front passenger tire blew out... and I don't have a spare! So, I called AAA, got my car towed to the nearest Walmart, and got a new tire... that took 2 hours out of my trip, so I got back on the road as soon as possible. I was worried about my time, but I got there at 8:30, and got placed in a line and lucked out, as I was among the first let into the level where Puppy actually played... so, I got a GREAT spot, up front and to stage left. Great point of view, was up close and everything.
Overall, I'm sure this will go down as one of my most memorable concert experiences... the show was without question the most insane thing I'd ever been a part of like that.
One of my top 3 concerts of the year, without question.
