Not sure if anybody heard, but apparently Waters is going back on tour, this time doing The Wall in its entirety. Not sure everyone's thoughts on Pink Floyd, but I think I can speak for most of us in saying that, Roo + psychedelics + Roger Waters doing the Wall = best Roo performance ever

I'd only want to see it if Gilmour plays and he has expressed no interest in touring with Waters again. I'd pay big bucks to see the same lineup they played with on Pulse. Talk about bad ass. Although, didn't Richard Wright die? So I guess they'd have to get someone else to play keyboards/synth.

Yea sorry, I'm just not interested in Waters solo. I have always been a big Gilmour fan and I have a hard time even listening to songs where Waters takes the lead. Also the Wall is my least favorite Floyd album. Lets get Gilmour to perform the entirety of "Wish You Were Here" and "Meddle"

The music would be world class, no doubt. Waters usually has a great backing band. From his website: Roger Waters management has confirmed that "Roger is seriously considering touring The Wall in its entirety in 2010 and 2011". How the Tour will be staged is still unknown. There are rumblings of a star studded lineup reminiscent of the Berlin Show. The main theory at the moment is that Roger will use the same band he toured with in 2008. Stay tuned to Outside The Wall for the latest"
I can only hope. The farm would be packed for sure. I think Thomas Dolby played one of the characters in the Berlin show and sang, maybe Cyndi Lauper too. I can't remember. I also think that Andy Fairweatherlow is still playing guitar for him and he can mimic Gilmour's sound pretty accurately. He has also toured with Eric Clapton. In a video on Waters' site, Doyle Bramhall is singing Gilmour's part on Comfortably Numb. I've seen this guy's solo stuff and he's amazing.

I want dark side of the moon live so so so so badly. The wall would be good too i guess.
Saw Roger Waters do Dark Side in it's entirety a few years ago at the Camden Waterfront, 12th row, and still the greatest show I've seen to date.
Trust me everyone, you will NOT be disappointed if Roger comes to the farm. We can all dream that Roger, David, and Nick were to reunite, but let's face it, it's not happening anytime soon. They didn't do it when Syd died, or when Richard died, so there's no reason to now

Didn't they play at Live 8? I recall Gilmour saying that he had a blast playing that show, but he wouldn't want to tour again. They could def pull a one off show, although I doubt they'd do it. WAters is our only hope.

In case Superfly does read this board... I've been saying it for years, and I will say it again and again and again... Gilmour should be an artist in residence/leader of the superjam. Whatever it takes, they should pay him that.
There is no single thing that could happen at Bonnaroo ever that would make me happier than this dream/wish would. ;D
For the record, I've seen Roger Waters solo 3 times(once even on his Birthday!) and he is always awesome, but while the music is great, his show relies much more heavily on spectacle and style and exact timing... but the one time I got to see Gilmour solo (WITH RICHARD WRIGHT!!!), he had a few lazers, sure, but for 3 hours, really, it was ALL about jamming and the music and most of all, the FUN. Also, Gilmour played things like Echoes in its 20+ minute entirety and obscure stuff like Apples and Oranges and Fat Old Sun and even Syd Barrett solo (Dominoes) Roger would NEVER do stuff like that, much like Roger would probably never just pop around stage to stage dropping in on other peeps sets etc... but stuff like that is just in David's nature.
Roger showing up and playing The Wall note for note with a huge stage/light show (and some other songs I am sure) would be fantastic and I would not complain at all, but his show I'm positive would be the EXACT show I would see here at MSG on the same tour... David however...

No two Gilmour solo sets are ever exactly alike
Same... I've seen Water's once after i saw Gilmour...
And while i am ALL for seeing the light show Waters will bring to the table, I am pro-Gilmour if one is coming to the Farm...
I would love to see The Wall played live... but everytime Waters does it, someone screws up Gilmours vocals horrendously... When i saw Gilmour, he played a few songs that had Waters' voice in it, where Rick would sing (RIP) and he didnt do bad, but Gilmour only played the songs he had a vocal part in... and thats one of the many reasons why Gilmour should go to the Farm, i think.
But i wont nit-pick, shit i want some floyd... and as for the Flips doing DSotM, I think (in no disrespect to them) I would rather see Umphrey's do the full album... Saw them play Comfortably Numb (yes, i'm aware its not DSotM) at Roth last year, and god damn did they nail that! I'm a very big Floyd fan and very picky about covers, yet i have yet to hear Umphrey's botch a Floyd cover.

Not sure how much stock we should put into this, but the poster on the Coachella Message Board who posted about Roger Waters tour a solid week and a half before I heard it here says it's not happening at Bonnaroo.

i think the wall has way to much filler material on it. i much prefer Wish you were here, 5 songs, two of them shine on. the wall could be stripped down into a much better album if you cut out half of the bullshit on there

thx. I've got a feeling the headliners this year aren't gonna be booked as quick as Phish and Bruce. Might be a WHILE.
I suspect the major acts are already known. It's all just getting the contracts worked out. Now whether we will find out as early as last year remains to be seen.
