So, I don't know about everyone else but I get that seasonal depression disorder every winter. I never want to do anything but sleep. We have such screwed up time in Indiana during the winter that I work during all of the daylight hours. Plus I hate the cold so I rarely go outside unless it's too walk my dog or take my son outside to play in the snow.
This year, I figured why not work out and actually get into shape. I've never been a big guy (5'11" 155 lbs). I've worked out in a gym for a few months and put on 15 pounds in no time. But I couldn't stand the attitudes of all the college kids in the gym, so I quit. Recently I searched on Craigslist and found P90x for $60. It's a lot more expensive if you buy it off of the infomercial. So I started tonight with the chest and back routine. HOLY SHITE, I am jello now. The program is pretty thorough. 12 dvds with an different workout program on each dvd. They tell you which dvd to use on each day. It comes with a diet program that is insane and I will not be participating in that. The only bad thing of the system so far is listening to the guy that hosts it. He is so full of himself, but it gives you the option to silence him.
Anyone else workout? It's a bitch but it's rewarding. I've taken the before pic and in 3 months, I'll take an after pic. We'll see if I can compare to the pics on the infomercial.

while ive been really lazy with working out since right before voodoo, i intend to get back on the horse after jam cruise. i lost a ton of weight doing the c25k marathon program (couch to 5k). basically, it has you going from being a couch potato to running a 5k marathon in two and a half months. the program has you run three times a week, every other day. however, i was doing it every day to maximize results. of course, during this time i also watched my diet, and was working out my upper body, as well, using one of those contraptions you put in a doorway. i am happy with the results i got, and would like to continue. the cold weather kind of puts me in a mood not to work out. im just waiting for jam cruise to be over so i can start again.
btw, the next step in the c25k is gateway to 8k...basically takes you from a 5k to 8k in two and a half months.

That sounds like a good program. I have a friend who is running a full marathon in Dallas. She was running up to 18 mile a day. I cannot imagine doing this at any point in my life. My knees just can't take it.
BTW, I am sore as hell today. I was so tired this am that I went to work an hour late. Im going to try the pylometrics tonight after my son goes to sleep.

Pylometrics in the am. Yay.
I made it to day 56 on p90x then ran into some medical problems that I had to take some time off but I intend to start back from the beginning the first of the year. Its an amazing workout regime.

I started running again this past summer. I had the intention of doing a half marathon in Kalamazoo this coming April. I stayed motivated running 20+ miles a week until November, then it just became to dark/cold/snowy to run. I can't afford a gym membership, so I was running on the street, but now I have lost all my motivation. It sucks.
i forgot all about couch to 5k. right now, i'm just trying to go on walks and such (texas "winter" is pretty livable) to kickstart my metabolism, but perhaps i'll give c25k a shot.

after recouping from my first waltz into P90X, I started again last night. Thankfully, I am not near as sore as I was the first time around. Imay actually be able to start the second dvd tonight. yay.
