OMG. I can't even believe that I just realized that I'm gonna be seeing Phoenix at 3+ different festivals this year. I'm totally a Phoenix groupie. LOL. I'm glad I'll have another chance to see Yeasayer, The xx and Grizzly Bear too.

Rag on me all you want, but I'm actually really excited for Gaga. I'm hoping CoS's schedule is correct because I've been crossing my fingers that she wouldn't be on against Arcade Fire. For me it will probably be Gaga, Green Day, and Arcade Fire. I don't care about Soundgarden and I've seen both Phoenix and The Strokes before.

The bottlenecking of people trying to move from one stage to another is already horrible and expanding the acreage won't do anything to fix that. There's still tons of narrow places like by the fountain.
Also, Coachella said they would expand the place to fit all these extra people. Look what happened.
This is all assuming they actually sell 95,000 tickets anyway but if they do, we'll see who's right in August.
For those doing both Lolla and Roo, Lolla schedule comes out June 8th. Just in time to influence my 'Roo schedule! Perfect so I can see if I really can skip a band at Roo....

Nice! I plan to see Phoenix at both festivals though. Schedule be damned. This does solve Black Keys, Chromeo, and The xx conflicts though. My Roo schedule just became less conflicted and more awesome. Thanks for reminding me about that.
Lolla didn't become a reality till this morning. But I can't miss another summer without Arcade Fire. And I'll follow These United States for awhile now.

Ok. I think it just seemed like a lot more since we have so much overlap. I'm hitting Lolla for Arcade Fire too. It seems like they're only hitting one fest though. At least I get to see Phoenix 3-4 times. The Newport lineup looks pretty cool. I need to stop looking at Festival threads. I want to go to all of them! I need to go win some money in Atlantic City or something.

Hey people, I need some advice on where to stay for this. It's going to be myself and another friend. We're both 21, so I think we can rent a room anywhere right?
Anywho, what's a good, cheap, place to stay either close to the subway, or close to Grant Park? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

NoD, Check the travelodge on michigan Ave. its kind of crappy hotel, great location, but its cheaper than the Congress plaza hotel and others in the area and I cant imagine you being there much over the weekend.

Check out the Best Western Grant Park - you can't get much closer.
Looks like they may have jacked up prices for the weekend though. Otherwise there's a Days Inn, in Lincoln Park on Diversey and Clark which is a few blocks from the brown line. Not real close to Grant Park, but your train ride would only be about a half hour. And you would be closer to some of the late night venues.

I was primarily thinking about hotels in the NW burbs/near O'Hare, but another option would be to stay in Evanston and take the red line down. Best Western University Plaza is going for $46/night on Expedia and looks pretty decent. Two blocks from the red line, should be about 45 minutes to the fest.
