Hello all another year is upon us and the RV rental questions of already popping up on the message board. Provided that you have a suitable vehicle to tow a small trailer (pop-up), this might me a suitable option instead of renting. Maybe even splitting the cost with a group of friends.
With the economy still shaky you might me able to find a deal.
i think thats a good option if thats your thing. maybe you could rent it to some buddies a couple of times per year for a cheap price and recoup some of your money. if i had a friend who had that i would have no problem giving them some money on it or renting it for a trip myself.

Here is the problem with "renting" a travel trailer to friends. The person towing the trailer is responsible for the insurance while the vehicle is in tow. This is covered under the registered owner of the vehicle doing the towing. In order to get insurance to cover the camper for "anyone" to tow it, you are talking higher insurance premiums.
Personally my insurance for our trailer is around $270 for our trailer provided my truck is pulling it. I would have no interest in renting our camper.
I was just bringing a idea to the table for people who are thinking of renting.
