Ok I am very new here and was wondering when the acts begin to play and when the 'roo fest actually ends. So it's from the 10th to the 13th. Does this mean that concerts will happen on that Thursday (and when do most people arrive/ when do u suggest?) Do people leave on Sunday or wait until Monday morning? I am asking b/c I was offered to take a free cruise but the ship leaves on the 13th in Florida. Thanks guys hopefully I can have my cake and eat it too!!!!
Thursday has grown each year from nothing a few years back. Last year things started up around five and went until about one. Friday and Saturday start about one and go until about four in the morning. Sunday starts around one and goes until about midnight. Here's a link to last year's schedule so you can get a feel:
Although the grounds don't usually open until Thursday morning, people start arriving as early as Wednesday evening.
Some folks start leaving early Sunday (especially those that have to work on Monday morning), though many stay Sunday night. You need to leave by 3 on Monday.

Personally, I'd pass on the cruise. Or see about meeting the ship at their first port. You'd have to leave quite early on Sunday to make it to Florida in time for a cruise departure, which are typically in the early evening.
Also there is no guarantee you'll be physically able to drive out before Sunday night, everyone is packed in pretty tight and tents/camps are set up in the spaces between the cars.

There's no way that we could have gotten out anytime on Sunday. Not without asking several people to move their cars and campsites. We were going to try to leave late Sunday but it just didn't happen. Even if we could have physically left, I don't think I would have had the energy to drive more than an hour without crashing. I'd recommend leaving Monday. I'm going to stay as late on Monday as possible.

I had to leave Sunday in 05 and 08. It's just a matter of communicating ALL weekend wth your neighbors and finding your way out that way.
However, I've got to agree with this post: leaving Sunday blows. The drives are always terrible and we're always extra bummy that we had to leave early. If you can swing it, stay until Monday. (Plus, you wouldn't want to miss the Sunday late-night campground parties...)

My group and me have always left Sunday night, we've been lucky to park the RV at the end of the line so it's very easy to get out without bothering anyone. Sunday's lineups don't usually interest me much, and by sunday night we just want to skip monday's traffic and get going. Don't psyche yourself out thinking you're gonna be dead tired Sunday night, find one of your buddies to stay up and talk to you while you drive, or vice-versa. Those Sunday night/Monday morning talks while driving through the mountains are truly awesome. Good luck!
I've gotta say, I've never experienced more than a ten or fifteen minute delay getting off the farm. The line to get onto the highway's been a bit slow but nothing to make me miss out on music for.

And this is very true! Last year was my roommate's first 'Roo and we were the only ones in our group of friends here that could afford it last year. We had some great talks on the way back home!
