Last 2 years we have gotten in the gates around 2-2:30 and have been really close to the showers off of 4th street I believe. I don't know the name of the camp areas yet so you may or may not know which one I am talking about, sorry. Each year it has been a 5-7 minute walk to centeroo.
My first two years were in Han Solo and Boba Fett respectively. I'd like another Star Wars campsite this year, or Rocky, hell even as far back as Peter Venkman would be better than BFE.

Only got stuck in BFE once....but it was sooooo far out the way there weren't even balloons with pod numbers. Such a long walk. Thank god my friends already had a camp set up and I was just leaving my car there and trekking to camp for the weekend. Cant imagine being that far from camp all weekend.
I too like being able to go back and forth from camp for various reasons.
Best placement? My first Roo...06'. dont know the name of it but i was like two blocks from centeroo. Ferris wheel right ahead and to the left of our camp. It was so great. Took me 5 min max to run over to Sasha'a late nite set(since my campmates arent into electronica and i was goin' solo). sweeeeeeeeet!

Every year I have been I have been less than a ten minute walk from Centeroo and even then I usually only came back to the site once and that was in between the day time shows and the night time shows, this year will be the first time I have ever gone by myself so I figure I'll end up in BFE but I am not too worried about it. The walk just gives you more time to see and appreciate the craziness around you
It's the best, we're all a little stranger out in the sticks. I have been out there every year since 07'. Wouldn't want to be any where else but, I will agree that it might not be for everyone, but that's what makes it BFE!

I was in the camp site that was back through the woods... is that BFE ? the bridges sucked but it was only a 20 min walk. I was out way past the church my 1st year in 06 , and I liked that too, got to see all of Roo that way.

Just curious, does anyone who had a "45 minute walk" remember where they were camped? I got camped out in what we all thought was BFE last year, and it def. didn't take us that long - and was curious if I was just delusional or what. So if a couple of yall could post up whereish you were camped and how long it took ya, I'd appreciate it muchly!

Start walking down Bushy Branch Rd. Keep walking until you pass the church. You will then walk past the last vendor in the fest (a crappy food trailer). Keep walking until you walk into the last tent areas, one on the right side of the road and one on the left =)

yeah we were in one of the ghostbuster ones, at the very top, literally two rows of tents from the woods.

We were parked right down the street from the above posters. I guesstimated a 45 minute walk during peak times. Sometimes we could do it in 30. But we usually strolled. We took a taxi once to help carry our gear to TO. It still took nearly twenty minutes since they take a roundabout way and have to avoid all of the pedestrians. I wish the taxis could run anywhere on the grounds, instead of only in designated paths.

I kinda went overboard on the taxis last year. I was parked next to Questionablesanity and wasn't so heroic about taking four or more 45 minute walks in the heat, dragging heavy stuff to Tent Only. As a consequence I spent way too much money on taxi rides for me, my friend, and occasionally a cooler or something that they charged a seat's admission to bring.

idk. We were out in the farthest corner of Dr. No, and it only ever took us 20-25ish. Woulda been nice if we all didnt have to walk AROUND the VIP area, lol.

Freaking love Joe's records in Evansville, Indiana btw. Joe Smith is an AMAZING guitar player! Do you work at either the west side or Green river road store?

So what i figure, the earlier you arrive the better chance you get stuck in BFE. So...what time do they start letting cars into bonnaroo?
They usually let people in starting about 6-7pm Wed night. These people always end up in BFE (lower right corner of map). They fill from the back forward until Thursday AM when the gates officially open. Then they fill up everywhere at once.

Ok, in '05 we got in the "main" entrance and camped right near the church, in line 2.5 hours. In '07 we went in the Bushy Branch entrance and camped pretty much right there as far as you could possibly be from Centeroo, in line 4 hours. In '08 we got in Bushy Branch again and parked in the Spicolli camp which wasn't too bad, in line 2 hours. Last year Bushy Branch again and I was way in the back behind the pond, in line over 4 hours.
So question:
How do you not go in Bushy Branch? I am coming from the north every time, should I somehow come from the south instead?

My dear friend, Wolfaroo, may gain access to Accessible camping. If you go in on Wednesday night, will they let you go ahead and set up in Access?
This has been the question for the past few years - I still have never gotten an answer and was not willing to chance it so we went in on Thursday the past two years - both years prior to being ini access - we went in on Wednesday night and were in BFE across the bridge and through the woods
How early is check in? Is it worth showing up before 11 in the morning?
Just skimmed this thread, so if it's been said before sorry, but usually the gates of Bonnaroo open unofficially around 6-9pm on Wednesday night before the festival actually starts.

It seems like they'd want to get access people to where they need to be. But knowing how uninformed the volunteers are, Im sure it'll be a clusterfuck. At least we have a few months to get it figured out.
