Yep. I remember in the offseason posting that Pelinka completely fucked up their offseason, and I think Cash and I went back and forth on this, but man, all of the offseason acquisitions were horrible last night save Wes Matthews. Schroeder was so bad too
I was extremely pro- all of their moves if you don't remember. I think that was the consensus in the media. Harrell and Schroder have been playing some of the best ball of their career this year overall. It's one game. I think Harrell is a really valuable player, moreso than Schroder.
Trez needs to come off the bench, he's so much better than anyone's bench big and pretty average as a starter imo.
I think his stats saw a little bump while LeDavis were out but his advanced numbers aren't all that much better 5han w the clips (his shooting efficiency has gone up but less attempts)
Drummond has been awful, I think there's some data to suggest gasol is the best of those 3, but yeah they should've tried harder to just get better wings.
even if bron and Davis don't want to play the 4 and 5 all season, they need to be ready to pivot on a dime at the start of the playoffs to run that lineup the most, and idk that their roster sustains that.
I wouldn't really bet against them because of those two but I feel like LAC/Utah are much deeper teams, Denver doesn't lose Murray they're clearly better but I think they matchup poorly w jokic and mpj v Davis/bron.
Some of Harrell's offensive numbers have dipped slightly, probably because his usage has gone down, but he's had his best year rebounding and has a higher true shooting percentage than he's had since the Rockets traded him. Even despite the injuries and Lakers not winning a ton of games, his WS/48 is .221 (previous high .205) which is good for seventh in the league, and his ORtg is 127, which is a weird stat, but that's really high. He's been plenty good.
I'm just saying the some of the best basketball of his life thing feels like overstating it a little, not his highest orat, multiple seasons over 120+, lowest per 100 points in years, like he's good on offense, but he's not been significantly better, in a way that's like his game really expanded.
I've just been seeing a bunch of things suggesting they should start gasol, have Harrell off the bench w Davis, and then just not play Drummond at all

He has his best DRtg, DWS and WS/48 ever, and he's rebounding better than he ever has (15.2% RB% vs previous career high of 13.2% which is a good jump). We've seen his WS/48 go up from .191 to .221 with his USG% going from 25.7% last year to 21.7%, so I disagree that he hasn't expanded his game. He's better at defense and rebounding than previous years and more efficient on offense than he's been probably since his second year on the Rockets. He's started one game this year, so yes he's a bench player, and that's always been how he thrives. Don't disagree that Marc should maybe be starting alongside AD over Drummond because the number on those pairings favor Marc for sure. Not trying to give Harrell MIP but he has been as good as ever this season.
Missed the game last night. I guess I expected Washington to win but not like that. Probably the Warriors tonight given they just played the Grizzlies in a meaningful game and won.
yeah seems pretty set in stone unless someone's going to be an ass.
dpoy to Gobert, 6th to rose, Roy to Ball, and thibs should get Coach. weird he lost the coach poll the knicks have been a joke and the sun's have Booker and Paul they were supposed to be good
