The winning streak was nice while it lasted, but then URI lost last night to St. Bonaventure.
I admittedly haven't paid too much attention to Rhody, but I do know they went over two months without losing. And none of their losses (Nevada, Virginia, Alabama, Bonnies) are bad losses - all four will either make the tournament or come fairly close to it. I can see them in the Sweet 16.
The Dunk contest is going to continue be boring until they fix the scoring or the best players start participating again. I watched some of them and they were all pretty meh. Watching stuff like snow/skate board and how much they've improved rotations using essentially the same equipment/slopes makes the lack of a 1080 dunk that much more obvious.

Yeah, idk. I thought the coolest things that happened were the LeBron bounce-pass alley oop and some of the deep threes that guys made. A lot of stuff was pretty sloppy, especially my guy Harden, but that's pretty typical of the ASG.

are you forgetting that they actually played defense down the stretch
EDIT: They definitely have to vacate the title and all wins from the tournament, the rest has not been confirmed. Lots of people reporting differently right now. My bad!
Edit 2: Confirmed via interim AD's statement on the matter. ALL wins vacated.

This Mavs story is bananas. I don't buy that Cuban wasn't aware of any of this. It's also starting to look like Kawhi might have already played his last game for the Spurs.
Very disappointed with what went on behind the scenes in the Mavs org. Cubes for sure knew about it, and he already put his foot in his mouth once this week by confirming that we're tanking the rest of the season. Also, Don Carter (co-founder of the team) died last week (RIP to a legend), so safe to say this is probably in the top two or three roughest seasons in our franchise's history.

yeah and he got a $600,000 fine for saying it too. Not his week.
This has all been pretty sick as a Rockets fan. Really makes up for Harden shitting the bed during the ASG.

I just got an ESPN alert saying that UNC has been implicated or something like that. It won’t load though. Knew it was coming but hoped we wouldn’t be the first name. Damn.

I don’t really care if anything happens to specific teams. I just want the NCAA to finally make some changes to what is a deeply flawed system.
- Transfer students shouldn’t have to sit out a year. If it’s a mid-season transfer, they sit out the rest of the season. - Let athletes make some money. Being a Division I athlete is a job. - Let kids go to the NBA straight out of high school. Get rid of the one year requirement. Just make it so players can’t leave mid-season. They have to declare before the season starts.
The only reason I’m following specific teams in this is because of the effect it could have on the tournament. I just want to make sure I pick the right VACATED seed.

I agree with the first two. Players should not have to sit when transferring, especially considering coaches can leave whenever they want. And yeah, at the very least let these kids take out loans to repay later. No good reason they shouldn't, imo. Sponsorship also seems fine to me. If a player can sign with Nike or Gatorade or something, that should probably be allowed. As far as being paid directly by their schools, it seems like it could get tricky, but they can probably figure it out.
The third is an NBA rule that the NCAA has no say in. It does seem like it may change soon. I'm sort of against that as a college basketball (Kentucky, lulz) fan. I think it'll really hurt the talent pool. But fans of smaller schools are definitely not going to feel that way.
