cant wait til they give up on this cup and stop trying ot pretend it matters
the players give a shit, the in-arena atmosphere is better than most other regular season games, and the quality of play is the closest we can get to playoff basketball this early in the season. What more could you ask?
i dont think they give any more of a shit. ball is ball and shit teams are shit teams.

well my team isn’t shit, and just made a 15 point 4th quarter comeback last night in a game where they otherwise would’ve thrown the towel in. So it sounds like maybe you’re just salty about the sixers?

i dont get how a 15 point comeback in a game marked fake tourney with no stakes changes anything? like that happens all the time in season.
the sixers have the best record in the league over the last 2 games so we got that going for us. I also promise you not one fan would care if we won this thing and then flamed out in the first or 2nd round in the tourney that matters after the season.

so do you think that regular November/December regular season play is exciting/makes people care enough that they can get rid of the IST? I’d be curious if viewership numbers would back that up
im not sure I have ever felt like I am going to surefire disagree with someone before reading than ne215 posting in the NBA thread
oddly im the only one in here who doesnt see the appeal of a fake money grab tourney that will literally be forgotten about. no one ever talked about last years 'final' starting the day after if ended. like in 10 years who is gonna be like damn remember that lakers/pacers tourney final where the pacers went on to win 35 games and miss the playoffs or the lakers finishing 7th and getting handled i the first round.
(ill reiterate from last year, i do not care if you like it, cool. this is all for bored at work arguments sake. i pay no mind to this thing and only realize it when the courts change.)

in terms of nov/dec views i think its just a matter the teams playing and players available. I dont care what the sixers record is right now and im pumped to go on friday for boston. label it a tourney and put us against the pistons or hornets or wizards? dont give a shit either way. im sure this varies by city though
