I think they had the best off-season in the league probably before Gasol, unless I'm forgetting someone. They sent out Danny Green, Rondo and JaVale and got back Wes, Schroeder and Trez? That's an A+ trade.
Adams looks to be our main 5 as we have extended his contract 2 years. Terms are apparently $17.5MM per year for 2 years fully guaranteed (hopefully he stays healthy). That’s better than the $27.5 he was making this year.
Lawn Gnome you're OP of this thread. What do you think? Want to start one and I'll start another? Just make this one the NBA thread since that's what most people are posting in here?
I find this college basketball season significantly more wrong morally because it’s still only occurring as a money grab but the money grab is for like 10% of the money of CFB, and all these small schools who have no way to be able to protect their guys are traveling across the country for 30-40k checks.

just seeing this now but man the league has soured on Danny Green. Dude has started for the champion in back to back years, he’s really really good especially on defense. Rondo was surprising great last year in the playoffs too. Trez and Dennis are massive question marks imo. Wes is good as long has he stays healthy.
Danny Green was markedly worse in the playoffs than the regular season the two years he was on those title teams. He's coasting on past rep like Rondo is.
Trez has been the best player in this conversation for like four years at this point, and he was 6MOY. You gotta look at some of the advanced analytics on him (PER, WS/48, VORP). Makes no sense to me to call him a question mark. Same for Schroeder. One of the best bench unit-runners in the league who recently turned himself into a totally lethal spot-up guy. Wes represents the question mark to me, as far as who they brought in, but I think he's approximate to Green, anyway.

the advanced analytics are decidedly higher on Danny Green than Harrell. Danny Green is a +4 point player per RPM, PIPM, etc, and those metrics grade him as a top 5 Shooting Guard

I'm not sure what you're referring to? Green was +1.17 last year in Real +/-, which was good for 22nd among SGs. Wes was +1.87, the 11th SG. Green's WINS were around 4, which would still make him 19th.
The Real +/- stat is analogous to Win Shares, where Harrell also doubled up on Danny last year, in WS/48, at least (.191 vs .96)
If we're talking playoffs here, the fact that Green played in and won more games, which can't exactly be attributed to him, given we know those games were won primarily by LBJ and AD, maybe accounts for his top-five shooting guard rating. If anything, it could probably stand to be higher.
