I feel like they were all pretty wrapped up, Zion wouldn't have played enough games, I think Gianni's wins regardless. DPOY probably the most interesting race, feel like gobert was a favorite but now everyone hates him lol and if voters gave Chandler the award over Dwight because of how he handled the magic situation they sure as shit won't give it to Ground Zero Gobert

kg's group buying the timberwolves would be amazing but the wilf's are going in as well and they've completely overhauled the structure of the vikings towards always being competitive. LETS DO THIS. THIS CITY NEEDS SOMETHING TO RALLY AROUND SO DAMN BAD
Discussions around changing the University of Kentucky basketball arena's name, Rupp Arena, have commenced because Adolph Rupp was a big racist or whatever.
There's a strain of denialism among Kentucky fans that he was racist. Other fanbases love to point it out as a troll or point of trash talk, and UK fans feel like they have to defend him. There's obviously the famous UK-West Texas NCAA tournament championship where UK was entirely white guys and West Texas was all black guys and West Texas won. They made that movie Glory Road about it, which I never saw.
This might wind up being better suited for the NBA Players Who Got COVID thread but Lou Williams definitely left the bubble to go to Magic City haha https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/hx5r3u/lou_williams_was_partying_with_jack_harlow_last/
BREAKING NEWS: It was the famous ATL(Lou’s hometown) Strip Club Magic City!

Here’s Lou in the club without the mask smh credit u/creepyactionatlength
Lou Williams was partying with Jack Harlow last night, after being excused to leave the NBA bubble Jack Harlow posted them partying together on his Instagram story. A post which Jack quicky deleted... Probably at Lou’s instruction

Lol I heard some speculation that JJ Redick is going off chugging beer and stuff because being in Orlando reminds him of his single-dude days.
Who was the other guy who broke quarantine? I think it might have been Caruso?

Is there any punishment for breaking it?
Caruso actually skipped his sister's wedding to stay inside the bubble.
The only other person I've heard of breaking protocol was Richuan Holmes because he crossed the bubble line to go pick up delivery food across the street. Sounds like that one was dumb but probably a genuine accident or misunderstanding. He had to quarantine for 10 days.
You would hope Lou at gets grounded for two weeks. I'd be fucking furious if I was a player who was taking everyone else's safety seriously.
Holmes did but I was actually thinking of the Rockets' own Bruno Caboclo lol I forgot he was on the team and I've forgotten again since that came out.
Yeah I mean I wouldn't even have a problem if someone did it intentionally for something as stupid and high-risk for transmission as rubbing on (let's be real, fucking) strippers for the punishment to be even harsher. Rest-of-season would be harsh, but if he does it again he's asking for it. I would be surprised if the league would actually do that, so there kinda sorta isn't a bubble.
I missed our game with y'all. I've been outside the 75 mile buffer for all 3 scrimmage games. I didn't even know the score until just now. I guess our reserves kicked yours. I love NA-W, but he hasn't really shown up in the regular season. He was great in summer league and in the scrimmage, but he's got to get better. He's got potential. Apparently we kicked the bucks ass today too. I'm looking forward to Thursday, though I feel a little defeatist. We had a pretty good shot to get that 8 if we were willing to earn the mfer. But with the loss of games and some matchups that could have proven decisive, I don't like our chances much at all. We'll pretty much need to go 7-1 or 8-0 to get a shot. Zion's back, so if he can keep testing clean, I think we could arguably get 5 or maybe 6 wins, but that could be tough as well. I'm glad we're in this tournament, and it would be great to get some playoff experience if we get the opportunity. Id even gaf if we got swept in the opening round. We'll be around for a few years.
With their schedule, the Pelicans should at least be able to force a play-in scenario. Kevin Pelton gave them a much better chance of making it than other West non-playoff teams. It was like 40% to make it iirc. So less likely than not, but everyone else was at like 10%.
esteban this model only has the Pelicans at 15% to make the playoffs, so a different perspective from what I mentioned yesterday. 43% chance of making the play-in scenario.
Overall, they give it a 91% chance that the West has a play-in game, but only an 11% chance that the East does.
Yeah, that’s a little closer to what I think. 538 had us at 60% before the season got postponed which did make some sense based on our schedule strength and some of our opposition as well as our opposition’s opposition. So I’m not high on our chances, but I’m glad we finally get a game tomorrow.
Yep. Among a couple other disappointing dreams I had last night, one was that the Jazz game ended with Zion and someone else in the corner. Ball was inbounded and they were just standing there and both had hands on the ball. Finally Zion chucks up a wild 3 as time expires, and it nets. This was on back-to-back 3's, but we still ended up losing by 1 and now were in a position to have to go 7-1. We are 4 back of the Grizzlies, so we will have to keep that pace and beat them twice in a play-in. We are 1 back of the Blazers (which we will have the head-to-head, so we need to win one more than them). We are tied with the Kings and 1 game up on the Spurs. So you have to stay ahead of all those teams. Our remaining schedule is:
Jazz Clippers Jizzlies Kings Wizards Spurs Kings Magic
5-3/6-2 is reasonable and doable. But we'll want to get the 2 vs. the Kings, the one vs. Spurs and certainly the Grizzlies.
