Murfreesboro TN here, so I have a 30 min ride once again for ROO #6 for me. J just want to tell all of you that are traveling to enjoy the road trip and be careful as I can't wait to see you all on the farm in less than three months!! PEACE.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

Kansas City, MO - home of the world's greatest BBQ. Born and lived here my entire life.
Saw some great shows at the Sprint Center in college... Springsteen, Neil Young, and MMJ (MMJ was at the Uptown Theater)
I enjoyed the Power n Light District. Whats the best BBQ in that area (walking distance to arena)?
KC is about 3 hrs from Fayetteville so it was easier to catch big shows there than to drive to Dallas or St Louis. (Not a lot of big acts come thru AR. We have to go to Memphis/Dallas/Tulsa/OKC/or KC)

MTSU used to be the party school in Tennessee in the late 90s. Hell folks would drive to Mufreesboro on the weekend from UT Knox for the parties.

Ironically, the only place real close to there is in P&L with Famous Dave's and it is actually a franchise and not KC BBQ. The city was pissed when they allowed them in there.
Closest place is probably Arthur Bryant's with is a KC original. If you get a cab you can go to Gate's and Big T's/
But, the place you have to eat is Oklahoma Joe's BBQ. It is about 6 or 7 minutes from downtown and it is in a gas station. You wont have better BBQ anywhere else in KC or otherwise. Anthony Bourdain listed as one of the 13 places you have to eat before you die. You wont find many meals better than their pulled pork sandwich.

Worlds greatest BBQ? I wouldn't be so sure about that.
yeah, yeah memphis has good BBQ but it doesnt touch ours. In the words of Anthony Bourdain, "People may disagree on who has the best BBQ. Here, the brisket (particularly the burnt ends), pulled pork, and ribs are all of a quality that meet the high standards even of Kansas City natives. It's the best BBQ in Kansas City, which makes it the best BBQ in the world."

That makes me feel better then...cuz before Neil Young I wanted some KC BBQ and assumed there would be some in the P&L area, but I could only find Famous Dave's (which I assumed wasnt authentic). It wasnt good either.
Before MMJ at Uptown Theater, me and 3 other dudes ate at "Out of Bounds" across the street...looked local, sports bar-ish...super close. Lets just say the name wasnt a sports reference... They thought we were on a double date. It was fun tho.

I'm just going to say, Memphis and KC have nothing on Lexington BBQ. Vinegar, spice, and heat= the only way to cook pulled pork. Forget the sweet sauce, forget ribs, forget beef. The ONLY way to have bbq is a pit cooked hog, slathered with Lexington Dip and hot sauce. (So good, that Reagan sent down a helicopter once a week while he was in office to get it fresh).
And yes, I am from NC. Originally hailing from Raleigh, now from the little mountain town of Cullowhee (near Asheville)... But I've still got a 4 hour drive before I get to sit in line for 5 more hours. See ya'll on the highway!
