The Bear Creek 2010 initial lineup is out, and it looks like another good one. It's happening Nov 12-14, and tickets look to be the same price they were this year ($99 pre-sale, through Feb. 17).
This was a groovin little festival in 09, and the Spirit of the Suwannee is a great location.

We got there late too, and got better spots than a lot of people who had reserved places. I guess if you have an RV though, the reservations are more important. Might be important for regular camping at Wanee, too, which I assume is bigger (haven't been to that one yet).
The Bear Creek Music and Art Festival is proud to announce the third round of artist additions to our already exciting 2010 line-up. With much excitement, we welcome:
Umphrey's McGee x 2 The London Souls x 2 Saltwater Grass The Soular System Curious Circus Lingo Papadosio
Artists at lagre: Pee Wee Ellis Jans Ingber

The Bear Creek Music and Art Festival is proud to announce the fourth round of artist additions to our already exciting 2010 line-up. With much excitement, we welcome:
Bernie Worrell and SocialLybrium DJ Logic The Heavy Pets x2 (Wed & Thurs) DJ Motion Potion Honey Island Swamp Band (Wednesday) Billy Iuso & the Restless Natives (Thurs) Suenalo (Thurs) Zoogma (Wednesday) Aquaphonics (Wednesday) The Fritz (Thursday) Artist at Large: Donna Hopkins
They also added another pre-party day! This means you can go Wednesday-Sunday and see music every day. I'm just waiting until after I spend all my money this summer and make it back to afford a ticket, but I'm definitely there.
I have started leaning towards the commando side of things. Too much of an Okefenokee Swamp situation in the boxers otherwise. Although, apparently Bear Creek is cold....
the weather is absolutely gorgeous at that time of the year in that part of FL. it does get pretty chilly at night and you couldnt ask for a more comfortable daytime temp.
bear creek was amazing last year and this lineup has all the best of lastyear plus more amazingness....should be excellent.
a word of caution to those who havent ventured to the spirit of suwannee music park though: this place is a public park - not privately owned property like many of the music festivals you may be familiar with. all manner of cops are in this place besides just your regular police dudes - ATF, plainclothes undercovers, narcotics officers, people hiding in the woods with nightvision goggles....im not trying to scare you but its pretty serious shit. be incredibly careful. i didnt have any issues at all at bear creek last year....but went to jail at wanee because they searched my bags due to me holding a beer underage. im inclined to think security is crazier at wanee than at bear creek....but still you will find when you get there that the atmosphere is decidedly less open that at other festies. so have a friggin blast, but be careful!

Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering about this actually.

Next month I'm making my 6th trip to SOTS for Blackwater, and I'll be at BC at least Wed-Mon, maybe longer depending on if I do pre- or post-fest WET. I have so far managed to avoid arrest, not that I ever do anything that would get me in trouble. Just act like you're in a public place, and you'll be fine.
I need to make it this year I said I was last year but just could not do it.
Yeah you do. Jasmine and James are supposed to be there, & hopefully Chef and Mojo. I'm trying to recruit a few other SOTS virgins too.
EDIT: Also NTRT is coming on Friday, I believe. EDIT: no, I think that's Blackwater, but I expect him for Bear Creek too, along with several others. This is not one to miss.
So since I'm new to this... is it a must to reserve camping?
Not at all Sunshine, unless you had a specific spot you wanted, which you don't, cause you're new to this. I would recommend joining Camp InfoBear. We will have a good spot within listening range of the Amphitheater, and an easy walk to all the stages. ;D We should have a fairly good-sized camp of Inforoosters. I'll be there no later than Wednesday afternoon to claim our territory, just say the word and I'll save an extra spot for you.
EDIT: Cheeky it's You! Sorry, didn't recognize your new handle at first. I don't spend as much time on here as I used to, I'm too busy on Facebook. Now I Know you wanna camp with us, we've been waiting on you since last November.

Hahaha, it's cool Sir
I have a small group going, so far, so I'll have to consult the masses about InfoBear. In the event that they aren't feeling it, we'll make sure to meet up daily on the way in.

Any random useful facts you think I should know?
The only thing I can think of right now is I'm not a Sir, I'm Dale ;-) I'm sure I'll think of some useful info later tho. :-)
At Blackwater I camped with one Inforooster and hung out with several others at different times. So that's cool, we visited each others camps too. You'll meet some or all of those people in November, and this is gonna be one of the best times of your life, I think, probably. :-D
