My group is planning to bring an RV for the first time this year. Did anyone have an RV and camp in either of the McFly sites last year? I went through the tollbooth at about 6:40 a.m. and as they were directing us back to the BFE camping section, I saw that the McFly sites looked completely full already. There are no RV's in BFE, so if you arrive in the middle of the night in an RV, do they put you in McFly?
I ended up adjacent to McFly (in Mickey Goldsmith I think) last year and it was perfect. Would love help from those with experience on how to get in McFly.

Biff Tannen: And uh, where's my reports?
George McFly: Uh, well, I haven't finished those up yet, but you know I... I figured since they weren't due till...
Biff Tannen: Hello? Hello? Anybody home? Huh? Think, McFly. Think! I gotta have time to get 'em retyped. Do you realize what would happen if I hand in my reports in your handwriting? I'll get fired. You wouldn't want that to happen, would ya? WOULD YA?
George McFly: Of course not, Biff. Nah, I wouldn't want that to happen. Now, look. I'll, uh, finish those reports on up tonight and I'll run 'em on over first thing tomorrow. All right?
Biff Tannen: Eh, not too early. I sleep in Saturdays. Oh, McFly, your shoe's untied. [jabs his finger up to George's face]
Biff Tannen: Don't be so gullible, McFly. Got the place fixed up nice-o, McFly.

I'm in the same boat goose. We were in Marty McFly in 05 and I have been obsessing over how to get parked there again! The earliest we can arrive is going to be at about 11 on Wednesday night. Does anyone think I have a snowball's chance? So, they do let people in that early? My plan was to arrive at about 5 am on Thursday morning at the east bushy branch entrance. From what I hear, that's not gonna cut it. Should I play it save and try for that camp on the west end of the farm closest to the interstate? That seems the next closest.
this is a great question... I have been wondering the same thing.
Also, if you peruse this site you'll see people say "you can get in wednesday night" and you'll see people say "you can't get in wednesday night." So I'm confused. Now this thread says that the McFly lots fill up before Thursday. So, can you get in on Wednesday? And if so, what time will they let RVers in?

There's probably no easy answer. I think that there are a few people who get in early and are lucky enough to get a McFly spot but it probably varies from year to year. Look up "aruawhere" and read his parking posts. He works for the parking company and says that they have let people in at 6 on wednesday. I think some of the people who have a system of getting there at the right time and getting a good spot probaby keep it to themselves. I guess with good reason. Anyone who's planning ahead and going in an RV are just like us, and want a good spot. I think we'll try to get in around midnight on Wed. and if we can't we'll just go from there. Good luck!
Honestly, I don't remember. Sometime Thursday morning. We got ourselves a spot in a corner, so, I'm not even sure if there was supposed to be a spot for parking there. But it all worked out just fine and dandy. We kept getting waved forward by random workers, and eventually we just said, "Hey, that looks like an empty spot. Let's park."
when we got our spot in marty mcfly last year they were letting people past the checkpoint on manchester hwy. in waves on wednesday afternoon. if you make it as far as the clock shop on the entrance road, you're home free (assuming it's the same this year). i'd say we were searched and parked by about 4-5 pm. it's a great spot if you can get it! fingers crossed we're so lucky this year! good luck to you as well!!

thanks for all of the insight everyone. My group will be leaving Chicago around 5:00 p.m. or so. I was hoping arriving in Manchester around 3 or 4:00 a.m. would get me in McFly, but sounds like I'll be arriving right around the estimated cut off point.
Every year I have arrived before the gates officially open and have noticed a queue of RV's on the far right side of the Bushy Branch toll booth waiting to get in. I assume they let RV's in early up until the McFly camps are full, then make anyone else in an RV wait until gates officially open, while they are funneling cars to BFE at the same time.
First thing is first, people do get let in on Wednesday night. They'll start letting them in anywhere from 6-8 PM. I know because I parked cars and RVs on Wednesday night, two years in a row.
As for getting into McFly, my best guess would be to enter through the west entrance of Bonnaroo. As for what time, well, there is no exact answer.
Over the years it's become pretty clear that they try a new way of bringing traffic in every year. Every year is different, that's just the way it is. Oh and I couldn't tell you what time you'd want to "arrive" at the farm, I unfortunately have never entered the farm without a staff bus, so I can't answer that.
So like I said, your best bet is to just go through the west entrance. My best guess would be to try and be one of the first RV's in too, because the flow of traffic will head towards BFE first (camp James Bond, OddJob, etc.) so they'd probably drop you off in McFly before Felicity Shagwell. I really doubt they'd send you to the east camp sites, but I can't be sure of that.
Hope this helps. I personally wouldn't get my hopes up for a particular campsite, it's rather hectic and the parking policy is "move along." I'm one of the few employees who will stop and try to help you, but if you want to go to a certain campsite, there's not a whole lot we can do to help you.

Thanks for the expert advice. There will be tens of thousands of people in RVs and everyone wants the closer spots, so I guess it's just a matter of getting there first. Too bad my traveling buddy has a 9-5. Can't leave til 5 on Wednesday so I guess we'll be rolling in round midnight and will probably end up far away. Good luck to all those who can get there earlier!
I'm wondering how this all worked out snowflake as i'm in the same position this year with people working Wed. Can't get into TN until about 1 or 2 am. Where did you end up? I'm paranoid of driving all that way only to end up in the middle of nowhere.
Good luck to all, seems like everyone I know who is bringing RV wants to park in McFly. That includes me. I plan on arriving at 3am on Thursday and I also plan in paying cash to the people who assign parking. I'm hoping $100 will do the trick.
But I have another trick before I go to my wallet. I have a feeling that it will work.
Of those of you who posted last year, what time did you end up arriving and were you successful in getting a McFly spot???
What time do you estimate McFly filled up?
My group ended up doing Tent City last year instead of RV, so I can't help.
I didn't get there until midday Thursday, so I could not get in there. But I walked by there on Saturday and it was one big party. Plus a ridiculously easy walk to Centeroo.
