Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
My boyfriend and I both do "flow arts" with fire...he spins poi and hoop with fire. I was hoping to maybe bring our fire equipment so that we could play...but I'm really unsure of whether or not it would be allowed.
I know in the past TN has been under a drought warning...so obviously we wouldn't burn if that were the case. I know Bonnaroo has rules against open campfires and whatnot - do you think the fire equipment would cause a problem?
We also both have been fire-safety trained and have all our own safety equipment.
You'd think after 4 Roo's I'd know this! A little help would be greatly appreciated
I have seen people do it, but I cant say I think Bonnaroo is the best place for it, as much as I like to watch it during music. Of course if you are just using ETOH, or lighter fluid the odds of hurting anyone are small. One thing I saw that I thought was helpful, was the girl during Phish made a 15 foot circle around herself with glow bracelets to help keep stupid folk away.

Well, I don't think we would be able to get it into Centeroo. Besides, doing it responsibly requires one safety person and a decently-sized bag of safety equipment. Glow bracelets will not keep the spun-out wooks away, I'm afraid.
Just want to make sure that if we do go ahead and do this, that we do it responsibly I will try to e-mail them.
I've seen fire spinners, but I've also heard of people having problems getting it in. I'd say it's one of those things where you either have to hope for a security guy that has no clue, or get "more creative". Just beware that there is always a possibility that you might be asked to stop, but that's no big deal.

I really doubt it would be allowed. Get some of those cool LCD color changing glow hoops and poi instead. My roommate used to be all into this stuff. She spins poi professionally. But the only time I've ever seen her do it she spit fire at the end and lit her face on fire. Always have your safety equipment ready.
I saw several people with fire poi during late night, but I wondered if they might have been part of the Art of Such and Such. They might have been done with their shows for the day went out to play with the rest of us.
We need more playmates like this I say bring it bring yer SlapChop (you had to know I would comment on this I will probably miss a lot of good shows on thursday as usual due to the spectacle Such N' Such usually provides on opening night). With playmates like this I will need eye condoms to protect myself from the brainfhhucckkkkzzzzzzzz
