Wondering the best way to do the RV thing at Bonnaroo. Was hoping to do it this year, but it's VERY expensive renting from the major companies.
How do other people do it? I have been searching craigs nonstop and found one for $650 everything included, no generator limits, seems legit, but only have 3 ppl right now and it sleeps 10...
Wondering if a group of 3 friends want to split it with mine and/or advice to do this right and cheap....
Watch out for renting RV's from private people on Craigslist. I doubt that they have proper renting insurance for other then family that is named on the insurance policy to drive and operate the RV.

The best option for a nice, cheap RV rental is to find a one-way special. Most RV companies that have multiple locations will often have to get their RVs from one place to the other and if you could do that for them, they'll hook you up with a pretty sick deal. Last year, my buddies and I were planning on picking one up in or around NYC, driving it down to Roo, and then driving it back up north, and it would have set us back like 600 bucks a head plus gas. With about a week or two to spare, I checked out this company, Moturis (www.moturis.com), and they had a one-way deal that gave us an RV for 20 bucks a day, including miles and prep fees, if we picked it up in Ft. Lauderdale and dropped it off in New York. So we each booked a flight to Ft. Lauderdale, which was like $100, scooped up the RV, drove to Roo, raged hard, drove it up to NY, and then paid practically nothing for the rental. It was a good deal.
Gas got a little pricey though, but that's to be expected regardless.

Just for a update for anyone tho cared or wanted to know more. BUG512 I appreciated you help and insight and anything else you can offer.
Basically after questioning the guy for weeks and emailing his reference a number of times I was MORE then convinced he was legit and basically there was nothing else I could do....so I sent $200 to hold it...he finally sent me 15 or so super high res pics along with a website he is building for his RV rentals and I even pay the insurance company myself for the coverage...I mean what else can I ask for?
Its a 31 ft 2008 Freelander for those wondering and I guess it could sleep 10 if you wanted to, but the cool/different thing is with this one is that the rear bedroom which is usually the master bedroom has dual side, by side BUNK beds and a queen over the driver/passenger.....total is $800 with gass/water filled, unlimited generator use, insurance etc, no security deposit required....
Couldn't have worked out better, now I just hope for a good spot!
is the idea dead? I have rented a 12 bunk pro tour bus that will be parked near all the hot stages. Are you still looking for people to bunk with, i have on the bus currently 4 avail bunks. let me know agent66la@gmail.com very neg prices
